Is there another site or forum where people are selling their "old" comma 3x? Every time I look on eBay there are none for sale, unless I'm missing them. But all of these people who bought a comma 4 have to be selling them somewhere. The $250 trade-in to comma was a really bad deal. I feel like you can insta-sell a 3x for $500.

I have been slowly working on improving the page as I’ve had time. I just recently switched it to use square to make the process less cumbersome. I’m planning on adding some more info soon.

Did you order the harness bundled with the comma? They’ve been showing all harnesses on back order if you try to order separately, but haven’t heard about them being out of stock when bundling with the C4.

Yep. Got the 1000 dollar bundle. I do hope you are correct.. I am spoiled with Amazon.. waiting over 6 weeks has been tough lol

Hey Tony.. just got notified that they *do* still include the q4 harness and my C4 bundle should be here in a couple of days! A long 6+ week wait.. but better than 12 weeks I guess lol!

Did the coupler get shipped yet?

I didn't get a tracking number or anything. How did you send it?

Also does anyone know of a competent video of someone setting up the C4 with the Lightning? I know the Blue Pilot setup is different/not fully compatible yet... so aren't the C3 videos a little outdated at this point?

no video, but its not hard at all on the software side.

After you install bluepilot, go into the menu and find the SunnyLink pairing option. Once paired to Sunnylink, you can go in through the web browser and force it to recognize your truck in the "vehicle menu"

I know everyone recommends installing right below the mirror. Does it really make that much difference to move it a couple of inches to the left so it can go right at the very top of the windshield (and effectively have a considerably better view of the road than the driver). I know this will slightly affect the parallax view but it seems a fairly trivial difference. Am I wrong in this assumption?


I have read moving the Comma can change in lane positioning of the self driving, but is it that dramatic? Can this be compensated for slightly with the software itself?

I used this video for an F150, which showed how to route cables.

I bought the 3D printed comma sliding dock and lightning coupler from here: https://bluepilot.dev/

I used the small USB cable to go from the harness to the coupler, then the long cable all the way to the comma.

i mounted the sliding dock dead center and up really high. It is not in the way.

Hey Alan... as usual, thanks for tolerating the newbie questions.

I don't think a ping pong over the course of 1 minute would bother me. However I have been reading your other thread on the gen14 forum and it seems that high mounting it would screw with the Comma.ai base model code that has been training on a much lower smaller vehicle.
So I was wondering if anyone had actually mounted a recent Sunnypilot model up to the top of the windshield. I feel like it could do a better job if it could see more (like being able to see over a hump in the road quicker than a driver who was sat lower down the windshield)

Would ping ponging be the worst case issue or would it start other issues like running up curbs or missing corners?
