PSA: when y'all do your recall, make sure to pull your comma, I forgot and the update failed I guess and he chastised me a lil for it. Was fine after. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Do you have to put back the harness the way it was? My hands are kind of large and it was a pain in the you know what to get that connector in.

I just had my recall done. All you need to do is unplug the USB from the Comma or remove the Comma from the sliding dock. No need to remove the harness from the IPMA.

@Ajzride , thanks for helping all of us get up and running. I finally received my comma 4 today and using your posts was able to get bluePilot 6.0 beta downloaded and my truck force recognized thru sunnypilot. Moving forward will the comma update to the latest version of BluePilot automatically or will I have to do that manually?

we don't typically push any updates other than minor bug fixes. We always create a new branch, that way someone who is really happy with their current setup isn't forced into an upgrade.

The documentation for this project sucks. I am banned from the official comma platforms for complaining about it.

I've done my best to make better documents for bluepilot, but i have a job, kids, and I try to keep the code up to date. There is only so much I can do. And no matter how many times ask, no one ever documents their journey for others. Once they get up and running they don't give flip about the next new guy.

if anyone wants to write up a how-to for newbies, I'll turn it into an article on bluepilot that can be linked to.
I try to answer what I can on here, Mach-e forum, F150gen14 forum, and Discord, but you or someone much more qualified than I generally beat me to it or know way more than what I am able to answer.

I can write something up that documents what I did to get my C3x running on my Lightning with BP 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, and now 6.0-beta. But I don't know if that's actually what people are looking for as far as an "instruction sheet". I also remember asking that same question when I first got the Comma of where the instructions were and the answer was the same back then, "It's dispersed around the interwebs". I'm used to looking up stuff like this since I use Linux Mint as my daily driver and I dabbled in using custom Android ROMs, so I get it.

Send me a framework of what you (or anybody on here) think documenting the journey would look like that would help others and I'll give it a shot. It's the least I could do.

Yep, just send me a DM with your address and I'll get one shipped Monday.

oh snap, you're making a mount for FitCam + C4 users? OK this was my final step in deciding haha.

I also tinted my front windshield, so that was holding me back too…but knowing I can run the fitcam and the comma together is huge.

if you are concerned about your tint, put one of these under the comma mount:

https://www.amazon.com/Windshield-S...tatic+film+for+dash+cam&qid=1772651873&sr=8-2

I'll say I've pulled my mount off 6 or 8 times and never damaged my tint, but the static films can give you an extra level or protection.

amazing. saved!

re the Fitcam mount, do you have a pic of your C4 setup w/ the fitcam on passenger side?
I don't use the C4 in the truck. But it's the same relocation bracket for both devices. So it will be in the same spot as the pictures I posted with the C3X. Then the C4 will be wherever you decide to put it.

I remember reading a comment you made elsewhere to the effect that you would just place the C4 behind the F150's rear view mirror because you won't be able to see the details on the C4 small screen. I like this idea, but doesn't the driver facing camera on the C4 need to be able to see my eyes/head to make sure I am paying attention (like Blue Cruise does)?

yes, i had forgotten that it is on the side and not the bottom like the C3X. I think someone else pointed that out too.

ah given this, the offset mount probably isn't necessary right? I can just mount directly beneath the fitcam (cuz I never see my fitcam now anyway)

I'll order the lightning coupler in the coming month!

you still want the offset bracket, or your c4 will be all up in the middle of your FCX field of view.
