I was wondering why it had a fuel filler door. ?

It sort of looks like a rivian/bronco mashup.

There was a BYD truck at the park we were at here in Michigan a month or so ago. Looked like that one so must have also been a PHEV.

This only makes sense if the tariff money went back into EV development or related. Tariffs are just a tax on the America people and most likely will funnel back to supplement "oil innovation"....

The tariff is to keep the Chinese govt from dumping govt funded vehicles into our market and undermining the price of what it costs to manufacture here (thank you Unions for driving those costs up beyond comprehension too). If you want to buy their cheap crap jump on it. Don't whine later when you wonder why we have no economy left and no one can build a vehicle here and employee Americans.

This doesn't conflict with my comment one bit ...both situations can be correct at the same time. But you are giving the current tariff strategy a lot credit, It is a tax on the America people.

I am in Scotland on vacation and was given an BYD PHEV rental, SUV. The thing is built well and drives quite nicely. Main gripe, the seat cushion is a bit short and firm for my American butt, especially when compared with my Lightning.

Also, would recommend against Enterprise for rentals here. Twice they had long lines and no cars. Walked over to Hertz both times and got set up rather quickly with a car, no reservation. The $ spent at Hertz was well worth it.

It wasn't brought in for show, since we are only a 2 hour drive from the border we see lots of Mexican plates.

My neighbors had their F150 Platty stolen and never recovered guess where they tracked it too? So I guess we are exporting F150's to Mexico with no tariffs and they might be exporting BYD's in the future to auto brokers.
