I'm here in N.Texas and on the lvl 2 charger I normally get 6.7kWh but in the last week it is steady around 3.3. It might get 5.4 - 6 when it starts but within a few min drops to 3.3ish and stays there all night. Overnight temps in the area are in the upper 70s (77-79deg). 2 weeks ago we were getting 50-70kWh in a 10-14 hour window but now only getting 30.

We have only had this truck since the end of April but I would assume that we would of seen this issue earlier in the summer.

Before I give any other information I would like to see if this is something others are going through or if I have an issue that needs to be looked at.

Either you have a cheap leviton nema 14-50 outlet that has a poor connection with the mobile charger which is causing overheating or your mobile charger is faulty causing it to overheat. Both cases are fairly common unfortunately. I would guess its the mobile charger that's faulty. If that is the case you can take it to your ford dealer and have it exchanged for a new one under warranty.

The Ford Travel Charger that came with the truck. We bought used so we did not qualify for the Ford Power Promise

Time to look at a permanent EVSE for home charging, the FMC (Ford Mobile Charger) has a poor track record for daily use.

If it’s the EVSE or plug overheating, you will see an amber light on it. If there is no amber light, you need to pull codes from the truck. My Mach-E was doing something similar and it ended up needing a new charge port.

As Taxman correctly stated, time for a new charger. The Ford mobile one does not work well in the heat and typically slows to a crawl during the summer months. If you search the threads, you'll see several posts where people experienced the same issue. I recommend the Emporia which has worked well for me.

The Ford Mobile Charger is notorious for failing in this way. There are many threads on this forum on the issue.
1) Check the outlet first and make sure it is not getting warm. That may indicate a poor internal connection and should be fixed first, since this could be a fire risk.
2) Try a different EVSE if you can
3) Replace the EVSE with a more durable model with UL and/or CSA certifications. Make sure you get one that can be set to 80% (or less) of the breaker size on your 14-50R outlet.

I personally like the permanently installed EVSEs like Grizzl-E, Emporia, Chargpoint etc. for home installation. Most are robustly built and have sturdy cables. A good home charger is your reliable security blanket with an EV.

As everyone will tell you, those Ford Mobile Power Cords have had a lot of failures.

They are a 30A MAX EVSE so originally the 27A or so was normal.

Long term use of it would not be my recommendation.

I'd suggest you get a better L2 EVSE.

These are the error codes:

Ford F-150 Lightning Overnight Charging Slower than usual the past week error codes 1

Ford F-150 Lightning Overnight Charging Slower than usual the past week error codes 2

Ford F-150 Lightning Overnight Charging Slower than usual the past week error codes 3

Good luck.

Well, I just went through a similar thing. Would typically charge @ 6.4kW, but noticed it was fluctuating between the 6.4 and 4.5, up and down, up and down, Went around & felt the connections, One was warm, stopped charging that night (don't need a fire when I'm asleep) checked out the connections the next day, they were not loose, but they were not exactly tight. Remade the connections, and everything went back to normal. I have a plug in unit, and everything was still bright and shiny, no deformed plastic, so just be aware...

I highly suggest getting a third-party charger dedicated for home use. I treat the one that comes with the truck as more of a backup/travel charger. Also stops me from accidentally leaving it at home as I leave for a trip (happened more than once...)

Yes, a loose 240V dongle has been the problem according to some other posts.
Mine had a really tight fit when I first plugged it in, I never removed it and replugged it.
It sits in my frunk compartment for some later day emergency use.

What part of the metroplex are you in? I have the FCSP installed at the house if you need to test your truck charge port.
