Here is my setup using the @PolymerBuilt shift box, with and without phones. I am using the PZ1P-7P155-AC shifter which is not motorized but has a blue lit base. Works great!

Legitimately the easiest mod I've done so far:


1) Take out the matt underneath the shifter - and take out the plastic piece.
2) Remove the 10 mm bolt.
3) Turn the truck on, stow the lever. Turn the truck back off
4) Pop the trim pieces.
5)Unclip the cupholders and unclip the wireless key thingie.
6) Unbolt the old shifter (now stowed).
7) Insert the new lever in its 3D printed shroud.
8) Reconnect the cables.
9) TEST
10) Refit bolts, refit trim, PROFIT!

Currently printing a custom cover piece cover the hole in the large cupholder up front (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7081385 is the model I used and it doesn't have a clip to cover the bolt)

I printed in ASA-CF - and I LOVE the finish. I had to print it slow and warm on my Bambu X1C. My shifter is LX6Z-7P155-U 1X. It's illuminated at the bottom and is motorized.

I've also got some TPU to make a custom rubber mat to go in the cup holder as well, and I may play with a "normal' sized cup holder for when I'm not carrying around a monster water bottle!

Total install time: about 20 minutes.

Also managed to make a cover for the bolt hole in the same material I used for the rotary inset.

I also made a some TPU inserts for mine to make it look cleaner since the top surface didn't print perfect on mine. I posted the files here if you want to make use of them. You can scale them to make the size larger as needed.

I may give that a go! I'm thinking of playing with black (and blue) TPU in the same print, although I may need to get some AMS-friendly TPU Blue as the stuff I have is not officially AMS-friendly.

I finally did it... I bought this a while back. Still undecided if I will keep it or switch back. Maybe it will grow on me. Took less than 5 minutes to install, trick was I didn't remove any panels, just lifted the panels as needed, made for a quick install. It is motorized from eBAY, though looks like a knock off underneath.

I cut some ruber to go over the hole (the texture you see). I have NOT glued it into place. I want to print a 3d phone holder with a charger on it for the void. I know there is a cell phone holder there, but I'd like it to be lifted and have a MAGSAFE charger on it.

There seems to be a lot of confusion as to what part number to buy and where to buy it.

following this thread I purchased a LX6Z-7P155-U from autopart_top on ebay

I paid $67.44 back in Sept and while I'm not sure it's a 100% Ford part, it fits perfectly and is motorized and has lightning as well. Meaning, if you open the door, it will turn to park automagically.

It goes in without any changes to the truck, no codes, etc. I used the ETSY seller 'ManionMakes' and purchased the mount, printed in ABS (For those that don't know, printing ABS is very nasty. The seller is only asking $40 for this part.) which is a bargain!
