thanks this is helpful. Were you getting a message that said "stop safely now" on the console too? My truck won't even fully start, it goes into accessory mode.

No, I never had any kind of error messages. I just figured it out after my 32 amp portable charger worked and the 40 amp did not. The chargers at the dealer also did not work they charged at 48. I have attached a pic. that really helped the dealer understand what was happening. The truck tried to charge, hit 35amps then fail. It would do that 3 times and then turn on the red light. That is the only error I got other than a message in ford pass saying the charge had failed.

Sounds very similar to when I had my HV Contactor issue.

Mine was a quick fix, in and out of the dealer within a week, I hope yours is fixed as quickly.

BTW, was yours an SR or ER?

There was a big issue wirh contactors on the Mach-e, but it doesnt seem to be overly common with the Lightning. I wonder if 23s may be slightly more prone to it.

it is an ER. it is a 2023 ER XLT with the screen that looks like a normal F150. It is the reason I had originally chose that model is I did not want the vertially long screen.

yes, I ran into this exact issue on our mach e when we had it. it is the first Lightning this dealer has seen with this issue. they have had a few mach e's have it.

I have the truck back…runs great. Ford replaced the hvc controller for free under the motor train warranty. It is a 2800.00 repair. They have took the hvc as a “core”. Ford stood by their product and the dealer was great to work with

Congrat's, could you list the work order showing the completed task and showing the part number of the defective part?

the customer version doesn’t show a lot except the core piece. I was told the for if the part was 550.00 and labor about 2200
