I had my Lightning all prepared for the big snow storm to hit this weekend with 9" to 12" projected here in central Kansas. Got my receiver hitch with clevis and a couple 10,000# tow straps ready to pull out stuck travelers. Planned to be out roaming around 4 wheeling when everybody else was at home but it kinda fizzled out with the severe cold. The snow is just light powder. As long as I clear the drive real quick with the leaf blower before driving on it, the snow just blows aways, downwind, of course.

Getting about time to head out with the leaf/snow blower and clear the driveway, porch, and patio again. Then change batteries and go over to the neighbor lady's place. Hate the Zero degrees but this powder snow is nothing. Not even a challenge to the Lightning.

Other than having to keep the heater set into the lower 80's to keep it warm inside, it is fun.

Still have a lot more snow coming in the next 24 hours but so far no big deal.

Our Lighting is charged up, ready to provide backup power if necessary—seems unlikely; plow the road if necessary—looking more likely; or help tow people out of a ditch—likely.

Got close to 4 or 5 inches snow, on top of that the frozen rain is still falling, truck is at 95% and hooked up in case of power outage, wiper blades up, crust of ice and snow forming on everything, tarp over back of tonneau cover where 30A generator cable goes in, I might still have to scrape my way into the truck to turn it on if need PPOB though, 20F outside, lots of birds at the feeders, coffee and crossword puzzle time...

We're 1/3 of the way through the storm, by this time Monday, I expect anywhere from 15 to 20 inches on my driveway.

The Silver Lightning is snug in the garage, topped up to my normal Sunday 90%., worst case that I need it's PPOB energy, I'll deal with that Monday, while my Ecoflow systems are on ready standby for instant coverage.

The state of RI has banned all NON-EMERGENCY travel and Mass has restricted unnecessary commercial truck traffic to avoid jamming the highways while the DOT maintains the major roads, no reason for me to go out, the wife is watching the Pats & Broncos battle it out ..... GO PATS!!

Business will probably be slow at the car wash for a while I suppose. :)
Slow is an understatement.
I had to shut them down until it gets above freezing long enough to thaw out the bays. Won’t be above freezing tomorrow and I think 39°F Tuesday, so maybe by the end of the week.🥶

I don't under stand did it just snap in the cold or garage door closed on it? I have same charger and that hose is super thick.
I had it plugged into the truck to keep it happy!
Then we got the winter storm which was ice pellets so the cable is not broken It is underneath the ice, luckily there was enough slack I could put it back in to the holder on the FCSP!🤣😂🤣
In the future, I will not leave it laying on the ground when this type of weather hits!
Hence” lesson learned”!

Part of my cord got burried under 5 inches of snow and an inch or two of ice as well.

I had to turn my truck around so the bed was near the garage door and the gen cable for the house backup, so I had it on a modified J1772 extension cord, with that connection up under the rear wheel well and wrapped in plastic.

My FCSP also gave me a white light at some point, but a quick breaker reset for 30 second and it was back to blue.

It was nice to be able to turn on the climate with the Ford app to melt the ice and snow from the windshield without getting my hands frosty - it was very hard and heavy snow and ice when I removed it by hand from the Prius, even with the defrosters on was a bit of a chore.

Of course I can't get out anyway, the snow plow left a big pile of snow and ice in front of my driveway, as they always do, alas.

No power outage despite the frozen rain.

My wife says it is because I am so well prepared with the PPOB and transfer switch...one of these days I might actually get to use it when I need it, but so far, only used to to test that it worked last June when I installed it.

Not going to be much melting around here all week, just whatever the sun can do by heating up the concrete and asphalt and car window glass.

On the bright side, there won't be any mosquitoes for a few months!

Like AZT9 in Arizona said, it got really cold here in the Los Angeles area. Sunday morning I woke up to 40 degrees outside. Daytime high did not hit 70, but it was a bright blue sky.

You guys can keep your snow !
