Nice surprise at the dealership "100 Years of Ford Trucks"

They paged me that my truck was ready and I walk out to find this beautiful Model A pulling in for service right beside my truck! They said it was a 1928 model, so not quite 100 years older than my ‘22 Lightning. I couldn’t resist taking a picture.
I just went in to have them look at/document two minor codes before hit 100,000 miles this afternoon and lose my warranty. I wasn’t expecting such a treat. And the owner was showing the service writer (driving) how to drive it so he could pull it around for service, it was akin to what you would expect with someone learning to drive a manual transmission, but with more pedals and levers!

Really? The dealership is going to service this? I have a 73 and I called Ford, only because other local places said they don't work on older vehicles, and the local dealership said the same thing - we don't work on things that old. Also, I don't think I would trust a Ford dealership to service a vehicle like that....

Yeah, most dealerships won’t, but this one has several old cars in the parking lot and I’ve seen other classics in the service department in the past.

I have a 1923 Ford T and a 2023 Lightning, they share a garage. I long ago swapped out the original Ford four banger for a chevy 350 and TH350 tranny. I have to admit, it never occurred to me they are 100 years apart... The other occupants of that garage are a 64 Meyers Manx and my wife's 2025 Chevy Equinox EV.

I can't believe he drove the Model A in the rain. Now, THAT is a real car guy!

Plenty of EV conversion kits out there that would be a bolt in replacement For the 350.
