Yesterday I got a alert & message reminding me about the availability of the updates for parking pawl fix via FDRS that can be received at my dealer, I looked at the links which routed me to the service scheduler page for my dealer, since my truck still hasn't eclipsed the 30,000 mile mark the 30K service reminder remains active, though I had them rotate the tires on last visit last month when they completed the the trailer module recall update.

Here is what the local dealer recommends for at least two levels of 30K service, I know there was a third one at a higher price but the Ford App didn't mention the details for it.

The second one seems new. I pretty sure Lifetime protection is talking about the dealership and not your truck.

No doubt that each dealer can customize services & pricing, but these recommendations for specifically for the 2022 Lightning.

I'd bet many folks dealing with the funky HVAC smells that are prominent in the spring and summer would pay the extra $100 to clear that up.

That's a dealership trying to rip off the customer.

Been driving vehicles for 50 years. NEVER had my HVAC "deodorized". In fact, until recently, my vehicles didn't have a cabin air filter to change.

As to alignment, it's easy. Check tire wear. If it's not uneven, and the vehicle doesn't pull to one side when driving down a flat road, you don't need one. The last one I got was so long ago (decades), I cannot remember.

The cabin air filter is under $30 and easy to replace. Discount Tire rotates and balances tires for free. The inspection should be $30, if they charge for it.

Early Tesla Model 3’s have an AC odor issue but that’s due to a design defect. Properly designed AC shouldn’t need anything other than a filter change.

I believe it's from the fart sound they can produce.

Musty smells from AC usage is very common. Never had it myself but across all the cars I have owned since the internet became prevalent musty smells from the HVAC are a regular discussion.

The ac deodorizing and alignment should be as needed services. I think Ford has the cabin filter on a schedule if I recall correctly.

My model S smells only when using heater. They deodorized it and nothing improved. Lucky I live in TX where heater is rarely used.

one thing I would recommend checking is 12v battery issues. If still under warranty, it’s covered. Mine was replaced under warranty at 28k. Again, in TX, 3 years is about as long as they last. Truck was giving me a strange warning though which didn’t seem related but whatever they did seemed to resolve it.

They're taking you for a ride on that pricing. My local Ford dealership charges me $30 to rotate the tires for each 10k maintenance interval and you can do the cabin air filter yourself - $25 online and a 1 minute YouTube tutorial.

The cabin air filter is, literally, a 90 second-or-so DIY change. It's much easier than on Ford sedans like the Fusion or the Mach E. The filter itself costs just a few reasonable $.

I did have an alignment done at about 60 thousand miles, and I then found that my right rear wheel had been out of spec for a good while... the truck has driven noticeably better since. IMHO it might have been due to me hitting an iced-over curb, hard enough to gouge both right tire sidewalls, with the right side back in Winter of 2024-25.

My recent service visit cost $44 for tire rotation and multipoint check, I change my cabin air filter annually in August instead of the suggested 24 month cycle.

Mine is in right now for the 30,000 service plus recalls...

Same story where they admit? to not doing the inspection.

"I need 30,000 miles service less tire rotation and cabin filter"
Dealer - But then there's nothing left to do !?

"What about the multipoint inspection?"

With just over 75,000 miles on my old Mach E and now 98,771 miles on my Lightning, I've stopped going to the dealership a good long while ago unless I need something that I can't do, for example a BCM update or an alignment, or the someday 140,000 mile Mercon drain & fill for the electric motors..

...and I have found a good local dealership. They know, I know they know, they know that I know, and we are all happy clams.

My concern is that Ford will deny any warranty claim with the excuse that the vehicle haven't been maintained if there isn't a record of it.

So I bring it in for the paper trail, not for the excellent service they (don't) provide.
