Wikipedia: The 1950 Ford F-series trucks (e.g. F-1, which is the predecessor of the F-150) offered a 239 cu-in Flathead V8 rated at about 100 horsepower.

According to ChatGPT, poor airflow design, lower compression ratios and lower fuel octane, use of a carburetor(s) vs. fuel injection, poorer ignition timing options, poorer engine block materials and lower rpm limits limited power output compared to modern F-150s.
