I need to replace my 2022 tires, and I haven't been that happy with the General's (light vibrations at highway speeds, wasn't suspension related). I'm not really in need of off-road, but I'm not opposed to them either. I want great around town and highway driving, plus good wet performance. Snow isn't a huge issue here in Kentucky, so I'm not going to focus on that at all for these replacements.

What would you get?

As a data point, I don't experience any vibration with the Generals on my truck.

I don't need new tires yet but I'm interested in this thread. My fear in changing brands is they won't be as quiet.

I have been very happy with the ride and stability of the original Grabbers, but I think they have worn down somewhat prematurely.

For the price differential, I stayed with the same tire and have just purchased a set (to be installed later this year, before winter.). From what I have read here on the forum the Michelin Defenders are well thought of as a replacement. But, they come at a premium price compared to the General Grabbers.

Good to meet fellow KY Lightning. đź‘‹

I’ve still got quite a few miles left on my 22 Platinum’s original tires but have been really leaning towards getting these when it’s time to replace

I’ve had no issues with the grabbers and do have concerns with an increase in noise and slight reduction in range so have also been considering just getting another set of them instead of changing anything.

I've looked at those BFG's (and the Toyo Open Coutry) as well, but like you I worry about increased in noise.

As an alternative to the Grabber's, does anyone know what the differences are between the Michelin PRIMACY LTX and the Michelin DEFENDER LTX M/S 2 as far as ride quality?

The more I think about it, maybe I should just go back to the Grabber's and if I have a vibration this time, just pester them to fix it (or maybe I'll have no issue this time).

Did you notice any change in the vibration when you did tire rotations? We have a Platinum and the highway ride is smooth as butter, no vibration noise or feel. I wonder if there was a single bad tire, but would expect a change in feel during rotations.

For the 25% premium, based on the rapid wear of my Grabbers (I'm at just under 16,000 miles, will have to evaluate them pre-winter to see if they're good for another one), to me the Defenders are worth it since they'll last way more than 25% longer.

I have a Platinum as well, and we don't have any issues with vibration till about 75mph. In my case, I believe its related to balancing and I have around 32K on the odo.

I just recently did Defenders with new 20" Fast rims instead of stock. My mileage improved dramatically and road noise/comfort improved as well, likely between the unsprung weight improvements and increased sidewall.

I had in the past used yokohama parada X. Very smooth ride and quiet.

Have you read anything about the difference between the Defenders and the Primacy? I also worry that some results are skewed because of the Lariat vs Platinum (20 vs 22) size differences, but maybe I'm overthinking that part.

I have seen Primacy for a Mach-E, but not a truck. I've only bought Defenders on my vehicles for the last 15 or so years.

I have Toyo Open Country on my Platinum. 16000 miles with no noise or vibration. They still look new.

I've been running these for two years / seasons now, so probably 12,000 miles or so and the wear is minimal.

Not much road noise to speak of, good wet grip, no complaints.

I put Bridgestone Dueler Ascent on mine. No noticeable loss of range and just as quiet as the General's I replaced. Gives a slightly more rugged look, with over 8k miles on them and I'm very happy. A set of 4 are $1056 on Tire Rack right now.
