My understanding is that it also requires a Windows PC. I just have a Mac. So that would increase my cost a bit. Perhaps there is one compatible with Chromebook? Will need to look more in to it.

I noticed this happened once today on my xlt…. Seemed to be an anomaly but it definitely locked on me as I walked away … I haven’t gotten it to happen again but it has never locked on its own as I walked away.

Is that WAL requiring the PaaK or can it work with the keyfob only?

It should work with just the fobs. Seem to recall reports of xlt and flash trims having wal but not paak

That would be a possibility. However I did do that in the past on my iMac and I now have an unusable/unrecoverable partition on my HDD. Not sure if I want to torment myself or spend some money on an inexpensive PC laptop.

I’m in the same boat. Dealer did updates and now I have WAL but sync is not updated so no option to turn it off. Got the BC 1.4 update and hoped that would bring the option to the menus but nope. So now my truck locks itself all the time when in the garage and no one can put stuff in unless they remember the key. Very annoying!

That was probably you just hitting the door handle sensor to lock with a wet sponge. I've activated the locks several times with this, especially if you are using warm water, although water straight out of the hose can do it too. My truck is constantly locking and unlocking when I wash it in the driveway. Maybe leaving it "running" would fix this?

I find leaving the key fob inside the truck prevents the constant lock/unlock when washing.

Sometimes I take the metal door key out of the fob and keep that in my pocket. Especially when using a wash far from home. ( Just in case I get locked out)

FORScan is hacking software, created by a person in Russia. It is NOT Ford-approved software, which is why dealers cannot use it.

Dealerships can update any module the vehicle has with Ford software, FDRS, an adapter, and a power supply. YOU can also do that. Adapter is like $500, power supply is like $200+, and the software is $50 for a 2 day subscription.

FDRS will NOT turn on any features that aren't supposed to be turned on. As an example, if you got the proper modules updated, you would have the CAPABILITY to turn on BlueCruise 1.4, yet no dealership can do that. But, after the modules were updated, you could then use FORScan to turn on the right switches to enable 1.4.

Windows only. Any machine that can run virtual Windows can also work to my knowledge, but I don't know that Chromebooks do that.

Possibly related, but after receiving this update my passive lock buttons seem more responsive. I previously added passive entry to my truck and was bummed at how long those buttons sometimes took to lock the truck. They seem to respond faster now.

This could totally be my imagination though.
