Mine does _not_ do that. '22 Lariat, BC 1.4. Weight of hand at 9 or 3 oclock, or a mostly full one liter water bottle, etc do not keep the message from coming up in the Lightning. In the Y, absolutely both of those would prevent or clear the message.

It's been a long time since I ran force calibration routines on flight simulator controls, so my "hand scale" is likely off... but it feels like mine takes more like 4+ lbs force _change_ applied at the wheel rim to make the message go away. Constant force about the same amount and the message will come back.
Interesting. I wonder if something is off then. Both my 22 powerboost and now my 23 lightning took about the same 1lb ish of force to keep it happy. 🤔

I think just turning off lane keeping alone would shut down the nagger, of course one still needs to hold the steering wheel.
My pro does it as well and I dont have any of those options (LKA or BC).

That said it takes nothing more than fingertip pressure to stop it

I agree. I do have the LKA on, but it does it when I don't have BC or even just CC on. My main travel route here, Hwy 98 on the Florida panhandle, is very flat and very straight. If there's no traffic requiring me to change lanes, it's not unusual to get it a couple of times on my drive. Seems to be minimal resistance required to satisfy it, though.

I hate that, it doesn’t matters if I have both hands on the wheel. I will try deactivating the keep lines setting.

All you need to do is put your hand on the wheel and apply a bit of pressure, very little, and the truck won't bother. Just the weight of my hand and arm is all it takes. Shouldn't have to tug on the wheel once in a while.

I used to have a Tesla and folks would put a weight on the wheel to satisfy it, but a friend of mine got stopped and got a warning for doing this, but it was several years ago when folks were doing this and not even looking at the road.

You can deactivate lane keeping assist button , but again you loosing an important feature. I usually give a small steering wiggle and that solves the nagging.

Question: As a non-yet Lightning owner, is the "nag" an audible alert at the initial stage? On my Tesla, the "nag" starts with a visual alert on the center console and will escalate to include an audible alert. I don't find the visual alert terribly annoying, but if it is audible right out of the gate, that would bug me.

That's what's annoying about it, we might as well just steer ourselves.

I am definitely one of those in the camps of wanting to explore adding a weight to the steering wheel to prevent these nags. Don't worry, Ford; I AM watching and I AM keeping my hands on the wheel. It would be unconscionable to not do so as a vehicle driver.

In my experiments, the best way to prevent nags on long stretches of road (where BC doesn't work) is to hold the steering wheel at the 4-5 o'clock position with a slight and constant downward pull; usually this is enough to keep the warnings away.
