Hello,

Decided that yes I need a full size truck after all.

Going to give our 22 MachE to the MIL since her Toyota is 18 years old and will be picking up a Lightning to replace it.

Looking at used rigs, the only thing I really want above all others is Pro Power. Of course a lot of dealers do not know or list this in their blurbs. Is there a way of determining pro power short of visiting, I have tried pulling windows stickers but have not had success with used trucks.

Any suggestions on buying used?

Look at the port in the bed, look for a 240v outlet, then you'll know that unit has the full 9.6kw system the bed has 7.2kw and the Frunk/cabin are 2.4kw.

If all you see is four 120v outlets' then the truck only has 2.4kw system

BTW, there's no way to tell from poorly constructed/detailed used vehicle specification list & stickers, they often overlook finer details, [the VIN won't help either. <--See Post #4]

Here is something you can try that may work for you. It only seems to work for 2023 and newer. Go to the Motorcraft As-built site and enter the VIN. On the results, scroll down a few lines to 6F1-03-01.

This is the DC-AC Inverter module section. You will see one of two values:
00FB - has 9.6 kW PPOB
01FC - does not have 9.6 kW PPOB

I tested this on my sample of 100 VINS and it held up except for 2022 where all trucks show 00FB.

Verify with dealer or picture before buying.

Also, you do not mention the years and trims you are looking at. I will tell you that it is rare for a 2024 or 2025 Lariat to have 9.6 kW PPOB. This is because it typically put the truck over the limit for the tax credit. OTOH all 2022-23 Lariats do have it as standard equipment.

All Platinums have 9.6 PPOB standard.

Mine shows 00FB and I do indeed have the 9.6k ppob.

Iirc it also must have the ER battery to get 9.6
No, it has been an option for SR (Pro and XLT) as well. I have many VINS in my database with 9.6 and SR. Also in Order Guides.

Also, be careful with dealer listings. ALL trucks have Pro Power On-board. Just a matter if it's the 2.4 kW or 9.6 variety. I've seen dealers advertise PPOB and not indicate which.

I was stern about 9.6 when I went to get my truck, it's also why they had to go out of state to get it as the only one they had in stock was 2.4. They kept trying to sell me on the power tailgate it had lol.

That was a big thing I had to have when I went back in.. I wanted the 9.6 jsut in case.

HUKAQ is the sales code for twin inverter.

I believe in 24 to have the 9.6 you had to get the Max tow package. I could be off on the but its what I remember

Close! It's actually the opposite - MaxTow requires 9.6.
You can get 9.6 by itself.

When I was shopping for a 24 Flash, I found (at least around me) that almost all had pro power. Maybe it's different in different locations.

Also, you may already know this but there was quite a lot of 22/23's that had some battery issues. Just throwing it out there as a 24 might be a good year to look for used.
