Might be asking for the impossible here but my wife is constantly complaining about smells getting into the cabin. She manually has to activate the recirculating air function and says she can’t believe she has to do this on a $85k car. Drives me nuts.

Can anyone recommend a really good cabin air filter replacement? I’m pretty sure it’s the same size as the ICE models.

One of the first things I noticed when I got my mach e was exhaust odors, among other things, making it to the cabin. Not sure what it is with the stock air filter, but it seemed to do next to nothing when my previous cars filtered well. The lightning had the same exact issue. Your wife and I are of the same mind. Or same nose?

I replaced the stock one in both vehicles with a PureFlow and it's no longer an issue. Here is a link to the one I got for the lightning.

Hope this helps!

I just spent more time than I want to admit looking for the cabin air filter size and type in the manual and the app and hope I missed something. I have a lot of dust and other things that fill those up. But was amazed that I could not find that and wiper size easily. Its in the manual right?

In the 23 manual it's on page 481 under capacities and specifications, it lists the motorcraft part number so you'll have to cross-reference. I'd imagine that if you find a standard f-150 manual online you can check to see if they the same and then you can use the lookup on third party replacement item websites, if they don't have the lightning as an option.

You can also look it up on fordparts.com and get the listing of other years and models that use the same part to cross-reference if the lightning isn't listed on whatever brand you are buying.

hello! hope you are well, If you find that your truck cabin has an unpleasant odor, a simple solution is to thoroughly clean the cabin, paying special attention to areas where smells may linger, such as floor mats, seats, and surfaces. Additionally, consider inserting a pleasant-smelling air freshener or perfume into your truck's A.C. filter or fixing a scented perfume directly onto an A.C. vent. This can help freshen the air circulating in the cabin and create a more enjoyable and aromatic driving experience

I've read that a Bounce Dryer Sheet placed under a seat or two will actually absorb odors and leave a fresh scent in the cabin.

You want a filter with activated charcoal, like the Pureflow.

Does anyone know which way airflow is when changing cabin air filter? I replaced the filter last spring or so and I just did it again today, but I'm not quite sure which way the air flows. It looks like the flow starts on top of filter and flows downward, but I'm not sure, and the manual doesn't specify.

I've been installing them with the airflow arrows pointing down towards floor... I hope that's right.
