Double posting because I may have an issue on my c4

I factory reset & then installed via bit.ly/bp-70

My device restarted, connected to internet and started installing the second part (I didn't catch the name). The screen has been black for quite some time and it's been constantly connected to power.

Should I just power cycle?
No.. there's a few upgrades happening including a firmware flash. Just wait it out.

@Ajzride it seems like quite a significant issue if the Comma gets soft-bricked if power is lost when BP7 is booting. I never encountered this when running BP6 ... many months of rock-solid reliability without requiring a factory reset. Is a fix for this possible?

I didn't see it as an issue. Just make sure your truck is on while it's running the update and you should be good to go.

it isn’t unique to bp7 either. It happened to me on bp5 3-4 times And once on 6.

not really an issue if you can resolve it.

welcome to free open source software.

FYI i just pulled the power and rebooted, and it went into BP right away.

My steps:

- Uninstall Sunnypilot
- Reboot
- Swipe install custom via bit.ly/bp-70
- It rebooted, then had that black screen issue
- Looks working now and paired to Sunnylink

I'm not talking about losing power to the Comma when performing an update. I mean just during everyday boot up ... like let's say I just need to move my truck 2-feet because I parked it badly ... I'm not gonna leave it running until BP is done booting.

Anyway, it sounds like @Ajzride just has to re-merge a fix that was already in BP6 (thank you!!!)

I just got my comma last week. Must have been right when BP7 was released because for some reason I couldn't download it - turns out i may have been just a little bit too early now that I reread AJZride's threads and saw they were really recent.

So far, I had a couple hundred miles on BP6 running FoF - because it sounded cool - mostly high speed interstate. I liked how it handled but couldn't get it to stop hugging the left on turns, right turns seemed better. Now updated to BP7 and ran into town this morning - Using CD210, angle control on - WOW! My experience with BP6 was great, now with BP7 - holy crap. I ran through some tight construction lanes and never felt like i was going to take out a bunch of cones. Honestly, kept my hands on the wheel because i like my truck being shiny.... But, great job!

Anyone reading that is curious about the Comma - yeah, you need to do a couple minor things to get it setup, but it is SO much better than BlueCruise. I hated BlueCruise- truck was scared of its own shadow and you could barely use it.

Did you do any tuning for CD210 on angle?

I just did a really short low speed drive and Dark Souls didn't feel right to me.

I haven't done any tuning, just playing with the visuals. I plan to mess with that on my drive to work tomorrow

Haven't driven BP7 that much (cumulative ~3h urban roads), but so far I found the default CD210 to be fine without any tuning.

This is what AI says:
Change the Model: Shift from WD-40 to Pop V2
Because you are running the legacy WD-40 model, you are dealing with a model that prioritizes tracking lines rigidly. When it senses a curve, it attempts to lock hard into the center immediately, spiking the torque and causing a fault.
Switching to Pop V2 within your BluePilot Model Manager dramatically reduces cutouts. Pop V2 naturally maps out a smoother "drivable space" trajectory, effectively "cutting the corner" slightly within the lane to minimize the maximum steering angle required by the truck's physical rack.

I haven`t tried it yet.

Our fix was replaced by a similar fix upstream in stock comma, so something else is going on. I'll dig into it if I have some time before I head out on vacation.
