Last two nights I get notifications that the truck will have to charge outside preferred times. I have it set to 11pm-7am, only need to charge from 68% to 85% (at 60A), departure time set to 5:45am. Have no idea how it came to this conclusion. I hit target by 1am and left a skosh early today without any drama. I really don't understand how Ford's SW can be this bad and they think it is acceptable.

I haven't paid as much attention to departure times during the warm season, but in winter, it's very pessimistic, the inferred charge rate is not the rate your EVSE can deliver, it's in the vicinity of 35 amps, and your window to reach target SOC of 85% is shortened from 0700 to 0545, even shorter because much of the energy (in winter is drawn for the cabin heating) & summer cooling.

Even using these factors, I'd say you would still have reached your goal in time but the prediction algorithm has more out of whack than winter.

With it being 80+ when I leave now and the garage still warm I decided to see if pre-cooling the truck helps with the morning commute. I can hear the A/C running in the garage around 5:15, so I can see the shortened time window. I didn't check when I went to bed to see if it actually started charging early but based on the time it hit target I'd say it waited to start till my preferred time. I find it saves me *maybe* 1% in the morning. I wish I could be plugged in to pre-condition on the way home though. Went from 8% to 11% avg now that I have the A/C cranked. My efficiency levels off once the truck is cooler so I think it would make a difference.

App shows charged to 100%- but when I start the truck again it updates and it actually is only at 80%

I think part of the SW problem is that the app doesn't communicate with the truck reliably. This part of the app always reflected the same as the truck. My problem was with the app's charge % setting screens. That was no where near correct. App would be set for 80% but the truck still charged to 100%. Location etc was correct.

I believe I fixed mine and will try to load pics showing steps that seemed to work for me. It's charged correctly twice and I think everything is right working now.

I just did it yesterday and it stopped at 90% like I set it. I’m using a Google Pixel/Android phone.
