ECU module programming guide using FDRS

I've received my Mongoose but it won't activate. It was new from Amazon but I could tell the box had been opened before. Any suggestions? When I plug in to the computer I hear the noise from Windows of a device plugged in and the green light flashes on the mongoose.

I figured out that Amazon sent me a mongoose plus for Lexus instead of Ford. Couldn’t tell looking at the actual Mongoose. After trying everything I could think of I did a return to Amazon and read the box to notice it was the wrong one. ?‍

For those of us waiting for new updates to populate, does doing network scans help? Should be we hammering FORD with update scans every hour... or are we just destined to sit and wait?

I've never had FOMO (fear of missing out), but when I was 500 miles into a 2000 mile road trip last week and saw that BC was going out over FDRS, I was terrified FORD had made a mistake letting out and that by time I got home to start the updates they would have shut it down and I would have missed my window. Sure feels like that is exactly what happened. First few days were posts of dozens of people getting BC working, last few days nothing but frustration and people waiting, very few success stories lately.

How can you tell if you have the latest software version? Or what is the latest version? Thanks.

I'm only guessing, but there are pre-requisites that must be met that are not instantaneous. It could very well require a truck to make contact with the mothership on occasion to meet all criteria?

what i do after i'm "finished" is close FDRS completely. restart the computer, and use the checkbox next to your saved vehicle, then click the trash can just above the checkbox to delete stored data. i then read the VIN from vehicle and rerun the network scan (mongoose only). that will show additional updates sometimes.

I dont know!!!I did evey update avaible last week that others did and they all said passed and the GATEWAY poped up and I did that one. Never got APIM and still no BC

I would guess the IPC is a critical stepping stone in the overall sequence? I do remember it before getting the last round of APIM/GWM

Here too. I thought it was me because I was at dealer all day waiting for them to do that damn recall for the insulation under the truck. Fyi, if you have a hybrid, it takes an ez half day or more. I also had them do a battery drain check and reset any codes they caused. Which never happened. When I got home, the errors above happened. I just figured the dealer stuff messed it up. I cleared dtc but ng.
(PS: that recall for the hybrid did not just include the driveshaft but the whole exhaust, catalytic or whatever the other many parts on the floor were. But I digress. ?)
