I have searched All through forescan. I have silent mode enabled, welcome lighting off, cabin lights off.

Is there any possible way to turn off the cargo light and the tailgate light when the door opens and the truck is on?
Unfortunately Silent mode aka campground mode is for when the truck is off. Keeps truck dark and silent when opening door or locking. Like when getting something out at a campsite.

I'm looking for drive-in movie theater mode. Car is on, radio is on. But don't want to blind the people behind me when I need to get out to pee.

And you won’t miss a second of the movie. :)
That has to be the most unnecessary product I have ever seen.

Much easier to just roll down the window.

As far as the drive-in, my solution is drop the tailgate input a blanket over the top cab light. I still think there's got to be a solution somewhere in forscan.

Anyone know how to turn on AUTO DIM mode on outside mirror glass, on an XLT which originally came with non-dimming mirrors?

If this is somewhere in this or previous FORScan thread, I regretfully missed it.

PROBLEM: when I upgraded (finally!) to both outside mirrors with Power Fold capability, the newly bought driver's side mirror has the glass with the stippled edge, and an additional circuit connector behind the glass. I know from previous cars like my old Mach E Mustang that this new edge-stippled mirror glass is an auto dimming mirror.

My 2023 XLT Option 312 does (did) not have this in its now-gone original outside mirrors. Although the XLT did have cameras, and this new power fold mirror lacked a camera... had to transfer the camera and its wiring and trim panel from old to new mirror stalks which was a fun meticulous task but it's now done.

I just tested the all the new mirror's functions at night on the highway, hoping the auto-dimming would just begin to work. Unfortunately and thanks to some idjit who was driving behind me with full beams on, I now know the auto dim function on this mirror still remains to be manually turned on somewhere... maybe in the BCM. Unless of course my door wiring harness lacks a wire and connector for this new function (sigh)...

Anyone with the smarts or experience to solve this, please chip in. BTW I'm pretty FORScan-fluent after four Ford cars in the family.

If someone doesn't chime in you can be the first to show us how it's done. CNTRL+F "mirror" or "auto" in the spreadsheet is a good place to start.

I looked through the door module options thinking it would most likely be there, but I see nothing there or the BCM which would have been my next guess. I did find this in the IPC. Worth a try, I guess.

Javier, thanks! I've been snorfling (yeah that's a technical term) thru the LIVINITUP spreadsheet as well this morning, in module sequence also starting with the DDM. Hadn't yet gotten to the IPMA or the IPC... after the BCM I needed a break ;)

I actually hadn't thought of the IPC for this. In my experience, the IPC settings add a telltale but often do not exert control over other modules' functions... go figure. I will check this section's settings out.

I agree 100%. However, I can tell you that certain things if not enabled in the IPC won't work even if all the IPC config does is tell you the function is on or off. I also think it is unlikely that this change alone will get it to work, but painless enough to try it.

It appears the electrochromatic (EC) or dimming function gets a signal (EC+, EC-) from the interior rear view mirror. Basically, when the rear view mirror senses a need to dim, it sends a signal to the driver door mirror.

You need to have an interior dimming rear view mirror and the EC+, EC- wires from the rear view mirror to the door mirror. Nothing you can do with FORScan. See attached schematic for connectors and wire colors you can look for.

RGR - my truck has that central mirror auto-dimming function from the factory and it works.

This is why I was about to start investigating the well-known Ford Corporate habit of cheaping out i.e. to see whether Ford skipped on some small wiring connection between the door module and the side mirror connector... Your schematic will help in tracing the pinouts.

Here is the connector at the mirror C521. You need pins 2 and 6 to be populated.

Disclaimer: All my advice here is for the 2023 model year (OP's truck). Other years could be different.

BMWHITETX, a question: where in the truck body / dash area can I find Connectors C510 and C903 as I step my way through this wiring loom to complete this mod?

I see and understand the pin locations, and I assume that the C919 connector already has these auto-dimming wires and pretty much is the back-of-interior mirror connector... based on my previous Ford other car mods the missing wires are almost certainly missing further down the circuit line, likely ending at the C510 connector or possibly at the C903 connector.

Thanks in advance!

I'll DM you, lots of pics. Please report back here on your findings.

I would still check the mirror connector. I remember it is pretty easy to get to, I used it to power my dash cam.
