Hello,
I've recently been seeing a low-pressure warning. The tire pressures fluctuate between 34 and 36 psi. The truck originally came with nitrogen. Is it okay to fill the tires with regular air, or should I find a place that offers nitrogen to top them off? Also, what pressure should I aim for? Thanks!

42 psi cold minimum.

Filling with air is no problem.

Nitrogen is not a scam but not really necessary unless you want less moisture inside your wheels and the pressure to be more stable during temperature changes.

@RLXXI is misinformed. There is a reason nitrogen is used for high performance wheel assemblies.

Race cars use it for temperature reasons. There is no good reason for personal vehicle use, you are grossly misinformed.

I just gave you 2 valid reasons to use nitrogen and a statement that its not necessary in a normal passenger vehicle.

You are now properly informed.

I try to look at things logically. First your tire says on the side max AIR pressure cold, not max nitrogen. I haven't seen a recommendation from a tire manufacturer that was different.

Yes you are going to get higher co2 levels from releasing it. It was once already in the atmosphere, we didn’t create “new” co2. Higher co2 literally makes a greener planet. There is no proof that higher co2 does anything but let plant life thrive.

Anything can be considered a scam if it's pushed as vital or necessary by a servicer. Race cars sure I can see that as vital. For general use? No, it's just a money grab period.

You have been properly informed.

Great to have all of the co2 for the plants as we remove them at a record pace. You can deny climate change but to not take any proactive action is foolish. There is no risk in action, just inaction

Apparently we're not allowed to discuss climate change in here so I'll no longer discuss the phony matter.

I thought we were discussing it. Don't let facts disturb your argument

One of my posts was deleted with "No politics or climate change talk allowed" by an admin I guess.

Interesting, climate change and politics should be separate
