I got an update today for "Feature Enhancement" which apparently was supposed to be only for BlueCruise 1.4 equipped vehicles only. My Lightning is a 2023 Pro SR and does not have BlueCruise so I don't know why I was getting it. It took an hour to install, but the worst part was the truck was making a strange, very loud noise through the entire update process. I crawled under the truck to investigate. The sound was coming from the right rear near the axle and differential. It looked like a motor or pump about the diameter of a Coke can. I was concerned so opened the driver door and could see on the screen an option to postpone the update. I selected that, but the update continued anyway. I again crawled under the truck and took a video. The pump/motor continued to run for about 45 mins and got very hot. This was quite concerning...is this running on 12V or on the HV battery? Fortunately it stopped when the update was complete. Why was it running? Why was I even getting the update? Has this harmed anything on my truck. Everything seemed to be fine after the "update" though I haven't yet driven the truck. I'm trying to attach a video of the event. Does anyone know what this is and why it might be running continuously when I was getting an update that I don't think I even should be getting??? I'm having trouble attaching the video....I keep shortening it, but it still doesn't load.....so again, this pump (?) is located under the truck, right rear axle at the differential just in front of the CV joint. OK, got the very shortened video....but formatting is a mess....sorry.
