Sounds like you got a unique email. My email said I had until October 24th to verify my address. As to shipping, it says "Ford will supply a replacement adapter in the coming weeks and provide return instructions to send back your existing adapter - both at no cost."
Nope, same email everyone else got. There were press releases and news articles quoting Ford saying that adapters would go out this week. As usual, those deadlines will likely slip.

Is there any to tell when this Rivian adapter was manufactured? Neither Rivian nor Ford can tell me.

Serial no: GF2241690000CV

Check the other thread on what's being recalled, but I think it was accepted that adapter is being recalled had the 00-D that is seem in the second line of text in your photo.

The title should be updated since it is not the Vortex adapter that Ford is shipping. That is a fairly important distinction, because the real news here is that there are now two *approved* adapters for NACS/CCS charging. Unfortunately not one that you can order on your own so far (apparently.)

I can’t get it out of my head that so many people on this forum said they would never buy an aftermarket adapter because they were worried about the reliability. Now the Tesla adapter has had a fail and Ford is going with an aftermarket adapter. Those people that were so vocal about aftermarket adapters before sure seem to be quiet now.
Were people really worried about the reliability? For myself, I was/am worried about the liability, not the reliability. With unapproved third party adapters, if anything goes wrong, you are responsible for any damage to the vehicle or charger.

I haven't heard of any such damage, which is great, but the legal risk is there I think.

I have a hunch that this new adapter co-engineered with Lectron has nothing to do with the recall of the Tesla/Ford adapters. They would’ve had to start this process long before that recall, and the issues that lead to it were identified. I’m betting they shopped around and decided to partner with Lectron for more control on production and/or design and cost of the product, rather than signing up for another round of the current adapter.

To be clear, Ford has not issued a recall. Although recalls are safety related, and Ford seemed to state that it was safety related, they have issued a Customer Service Action or CSA.

Thank you. It's weird that Rivian and GM haven't had any problems. Another Ford mystery which is why I'm unlikely to be a repeat customer.
I think you mean to say "It's surprising that Rivian and GM are both using the same adapter that Ford recalled, when are they going to recall their shipments that are defective"?

Or, did Ford alone get a defective batch...
let's remember that Ford gave adaptors free to all mach-e and lightning owners. GM owners have to purchase it for $225. I'm sure the number of adaptors GM purchased/sold is dramitcally lower than Ford.

I never got my ford NACS adaptor to work. Multiple stations, multiple pedestals. I am hopeful that my recall replacement will actually work.

Did you do any troubleshooting? The problem might not be the adapter.

I got on the forum and tried everything recommended. i.e. waiting longer, making sure it was locked correctly, using tesla app. using fordpass app, setting charge configurations on the screen, etc. I finally just gave up and I now plan around tesla stations.

What locations? Any other non-teslas charging there? It's possible they may not be activated for Ford, Rivian, etc.
