I also have a 2025 Lariat. I use the free 80A FCSP to charge it, but my Lariat is capped at 48A (roughly 11 kWh) for home AC charging so the FCSP is not worth the hassle and expense of installation.
Wait, first you say you use it then say it's too expensive to have installed, lol which is it? In any event, Ford paid a local contractor to install mine, didn't cost me a dime for the charger or install.

It's both lol! The charger was free (though I think I'll be getting a gross up to my pay so I'll owe the taxes on $1300). Then came my idea to install the FCSP at my lake house up north. That house needs a major service upgrade so I went with a separate meter on the garage instead. Though that was easier than running 3ga wire from the house, it was still pricey. Then, after the meter box was installed, Consumers changed their tune - they needed to upgrade the service lines that ran from the street to my house and to top it off, they needed to add a transformer! Holy $#%@#! My part was a few hundred bucks but I'll get some kickbacks over the next 5 years to help cover the cost. None of this was covered by Ford or QMerit.

I am happily retired and my wife and I have accumulated over 9000 miles on our 2025 Lariat that we just got in May. Love the Lightning - going to order a replacement in a few months.

I just got my 25 Flash this past June. You should have received the charger for free or $500 taken off the price.

Yes, free charger. The install was outside Ford/QMerit guidelines so I paid it.

The 1st contractor they sent over wanted to charge me $1,300. I declined that quote and qmerit sent over another contractor that came back with a $0.00 quote which I accepted. Basic install.

May 12th is when they changed the Power Promise charger from a "Charge Station Pro" to "Ford home charge station model may vary based on availability".
This past week they updated it to any home charge station and added an Emporia 48A Level 2 charger to the possible chargers you receive.
Interesting. I leased mine 8-16-25 and that's the terminology I saw as well. "May vary based upon availability."

So mine is the Flash model with the 123kWh battery. Are you guys saying it will never charge at more than 11kWh on AC? I thought the Flash was supposed to charge faster?

Unless it's a fleet order, with the option, it has a 48amp onboard charger, regardless of trim.

Why can't my 2024+ charge above 48A (11 kW)?
has moved up to #6 on the Dead Horse list.

I'm in week 2 of my F-150 Lightning purchase now, and super happy with almost everything. I got the Lariat Extended Range at just under the $80,000 cut off hoping to sneak in before the rebates went away. However, it turns out the ER's are no longer fully made in America, and some don't qualify. But Ford gave me the discount instead and my dealership is making it right by giving me a little extra off the top. So, I'm happy there.

The kicker though is I was expecting to get the Pro 80A charger with this truck. Everyone said that's what I would get. I've been thinking about one day getting the HIS to go with it, and some solar, but not right away. Out of nowhere, I get an email saying "Use this code for your free charger." I try it out and it only works with the 48A charger, not the Pro.

When I called in about it, the lady said that in the past couple of days, Ford has quit sending the 80A and only sends the 48A now. But I bought my truck a full week before that change! Nothing she could do.

My dealership is working it, trying to get the proper charger for me. But I thought that maybe a little public post might help sway Ford to ship me the charger I was told I'd receive. Loving everything about the truck, but these bumps along the road in the sales process are pretty frustrating.
You may actually be happier with the 48A if your truck can’t utilize the 80A. I recently swapped my 80A Tesla chargers for 48A, the primary reason was simply because of the cables. Lighter, easier to maneuver, easier to coil.

Correct. Ford went to Single Onboard Charging on all batteries in 2025 model year. On the Pro you can option for the 131kWh battery with the Dual Onboard Charging, Peak charge rate 19.2kW.

Note that if you just want home backup, it works perfectly fine to run a cord from the pro power 30A outlet in the bed. There is a little complication involving the GFCI but nothing that an electrician can’t figure out (see threads on the topic).

The only advantage of the home integration system is that you get an automatic transfer if the power goes out while your truck is plugged in. I believe that it is also limited to supply 30A of power to the house (based on other threads here). It saves you the hassle of finding the cord and plugging it in, possibly in the dark, but at a fairly large cost in money and complexity. The advantage of using a generator plug on the house side is that you can use it with other devices - like generators or other trucks (one of whch, ahem, supplies 50A). Future buyers will be more impressed by a standard generator plug than a Ford specific device.

It's really more about the option for the Home Integration System. That only works with the Pro charger. I've read a bit on here any other places, and it appears to be a rocky situation currently, but I'm hoping that gets better and I could add it in later.
As an owner of an HIS system, I can tell you it does work, but it is not the best system going forward. It is also very difficult to source now. If you want that functionality, there are starting to be many other options.
Many of the major home battery systems now have a generator option that can be used as long as you have Pro-power onboard 240V bed outlet.
If you want a system that works exactly like what the HIS was promised to do, you can use Sigenergy (formerly called Pointguard in the US) V2X today. Some like Enphase and others who have shown demonstrations might come out in the next 2 years as well.

Thanks everyone. I'll be sure to keep an eye out on these other options. The good news is that Cloninger Ford down in Hickory, NC, came through for me and swapped out the 48a charger for the Pro one they told me I'd get. It took a while, but I've got my QMerit installer lined up in a couple of weeks to get it hooked up.

While we had a few bumps, I'm grateful to the team down there for getting me everything they told me I'd have as best they could.

My 2023 Lariat had ability to charge at 80 amps. Starting model year 2024 Ford changed the onboard charger in the truck which reduced the max charge to 48 amps.

My 2024 Platinum charges at 48 amps, just like your Flash,

My Tesla Wall Connetor reports voltage at the truck is 233 vac. 233v x 48a = 11,200, 11.2 kWs, to the truck.
The charge that the truck reports goes to the battery is 10.4 kWh due to loss going from AC to DC.

After 6 hours of charging the truck reports it gained 62.4 kWh and the Wall Connector reports it delivered to 69.6 kWh.

I hope this helps understanding.
