Maybe it's just me, but I've found that I use the A-pillar grab handle every time I get in and out of the truck. As I'm shopping the competition, the driver's side A-pillar grab handle appears to be a unique feature on the Lightning.
My 2014 F150 XLT didn't have one on the driver's side. (I don't think my 2001 F150 Lariat did either.) I always had to grab the steering wheel.
As far as I can tell, Hummer is the only other full size EV pickup truck with a driver's side A-pillar grab handle.
Does anybody else routinely use the driver's side grab handle?
Why isn't this a standard feature on every pickup truck and SUV?
How much money does the manufacturer save by making it more difficult to get in and out of the truck? (Okay, that was rhetorical.)

My previous 2012 F250 had the handle also.

use it the time. In fact one of the very few complaints I have about my Lightning is that it's sits too high. I previously had a Chevy Avalanche for 12 years. Although it had running boards, I never used them. I can't get into the Lightning without them and the A-pillar handle. In fact the only thing I can think of that would make me trade in the Lightning would be that as I get older (I'm 71) I might not be limber enough to get in it!

I actually hate the running boards on the lightning. I live in SWLA, if they get even slightly wet from rain, fog or condensation they're slippery af.

mine are retractable and this has never been a problem... I do have to remember to have them extend when going through the car wash, thought.

Both my wife and I use the grab handles all the time. Also when rear passengers get in they tend to use the ones on the rear also.

We have powered running boards and they are much better than the fixed RBs. They are wider, extend out more and extend lower. I’ve never slipped when using them as I did in previous 150s with fixed versions.

When looking for my 2 Lightnings that I bought, powered Running boards were a mandatory requirement. They are relatively inexpensive and well worth the money.

My 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 and I think my 1986 Toyota 4x4 had them. I regularly use them, and my wife always uses the one on the passenger side.
