I am an incurious person who makes vehicle purchasing decisions based on what my favorite political news site instructs me to do so I assume this photo is demonstrating the entire towing range - the length of your driveway - of your golf cart "truck".😉

I've towed our cargo trailer, exactly like yours, for many, many miles over a month of 'moving' to a new location, 113 miles north. Never any issue, and no problems, and could get from A to B without stopping, full loaded.
I do even longer trips with our Camper, a similar single-axle 3,800gvwr, while providing ProPower on the move, to keep the fridge running, fans, chargers, and even the roof air conditioner, when needed. Our trip tomorrow will be 321 miles, with several stops.

I've never understood the comments with 'golf cart', or 'local towing', and other references....

To some people it's not a "real truck" if it can't tow a bulldozer 500 miles without stopping. Nevermind that most personal 1500 size trucks rarely tow anything.

A lot of trucks are sold not because of how they will be used but how they could be used.

agreed...

my brother-in-law, a big long term 'diesel' truck fan, has constantly poked me about my 'lectric' truck, as though it 'can't' do what his can... it 'can't' go where his can... it's not as 'good' as his is...

funny, too, as after all his poking, you look at his jacked-up F250 diesel, and he has an additional 100gallon diesel tank in his bed... of course.

studies have shown that 75% of pickup truck owners tow at least once per year.

It’s always the guys who don’t even tow who have a comment about towing.
For me the towing 2500-3000bs around town weekly has been perfect with this truck. I love seeing Raptors around town squatted with the same amount of weight on it.
I tell everybody who wants to have the debate with me about this truck - it’s perfect for me and what I use it for. No you cannot tow 15,000 pounds across the country with this truck. if that’s what you’re into - good luck.

I pulled my bulky pontoon about 25 miles the other day and didn’t even notice it. I’ve borrowed others ICE pickups to tow it before and it felt like I was pulling a sled.

….so I’m planning to tow a 6x12 uhaul and the truck bed full of furniture 278 miles in August. Having not seen the range tow- cripple before, what would I expect? 1/2?

I was planning to start with 100% and charge back to 80% at 130 miles - then charge again at destination after I ditch the trailer.

I have ‘23 ER with no mods yet.

drive no more than 60mph loaded?

thoughts?

am I too optimistic on this plan?

Your assumptions are reasonable, consider the hills you might encounter, that could impact your plan.

Hills are a good thought. Essentially going from north of ATL to Tuscaloosa, AL…stop in Anniston. Also, I presume that in Tow mode, the Lightning will perform like any of my ICE F150’s did in the past…yawn?

'TOW MODE' does not change range, or affect your outcome, it is simply a difference in the 'gas pedal' and some of the 'regen'... overall, though, no drive mode changes overall outcomes. It's really more about the amount of Regen you prefer.
I tow regularly in NORMAL mode, mostly for the coasting capability, have towed in SPORT mode, thru heavy traffic, and use TOW MODE rarely, generally only at higher speeds on interstates, whether with our loaded enclosed trailer, or our camper.

Thank you! That makes sense. I want to preserve regen and most of this will be interstate, so….
