Just got this 2025 Lightning!!!

After searching for the right Lightning, and after getting some good advice from you all, the Rapid Red Lightning Platinum is mine!! Excited and a bit overwhelmed in all its features, and really only touched on the ones that got me home. I did some preliminary searches but came up dry. Is there a section here that's something like a Lightning 101 class? So maybe settings and bells and whistles that I really don't even know where to start. One thing I learned early is that this truck does not have HomeLink for my garage opener. Can't believe that was pulled in 2024. It's a bad pic, but here she it. 2025 Rapid Red with Dark Elements package.

Congrats on your new purchase! Not sure if there is a Lightning 101 type of post, but I would just go through the menu items on the big screen and try each one, or just read the description (I think there is an info button for each one which describes each feature in more detail).

Rapid Red is the only color...

Besides downloading the manual in PDF form to all your devices, and then actually reading it (seems to be a challenge for many), simply sit in the truck and go through every menu, clicking on every item, clicking on the "i" where it exists. If you don't understand the item, then go to the manual or Google it.

So many people don't do this, and then they have no idea what features they have, or don't have.

No Homelink in the platinum trim is absurd. It's standard in sub-$20k vehicles so Ford had no excuse for pulling it in a $80k+ vehicle. I bookmarked a thread that talked about one option for getting homelink: https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/posts/570502/

I'll second what Rick suggested. Take an hour and just go through all the menus, time well spent.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum. Lightning 101 isn't available but just read this forum regularly look at the videos. Also there are a lot of Youtube videos on the lightning. a bit of caution though.. there are a number of youtubers who love to run down products to get clicks. They get called out regularly on this forum. however there are plenty of posters who love the lightning.

Also, if you have the lit mirrors on the visors, then installing Homelink yourself on the visor isn't that hard.

In short, there should be an area already cut out for it under the cloth. You buy a module on Ebay for $30 or so, and install it. I did this on 3 vehicles and it's much easier than it sounds.

Could you post some more pics of your truck? I've read and heard a lot about it, but I don't think I've seen what the dark elements package actually looks like in detail.

I'd suggest taking the time and enjoying the time to sit in it and fiddle with the settings. The digital searchable version of the owner's manual is excellent. I go to the internet for researching very specific things, or to dive deeper into a particular issue. Hope this helps?

I can go out at lunch and get you some better pics of the Dark Elements package. Essentially from what I can tell the package has black wheels, blacked out emblems, and the seats are totally black.
