My name is Glenn, I bought my first ev, a 2023 Lightning Lariet, used with 6,500 miles on it on March 10th this year. It was a reaquired vehicle with an extended warranty on all the factory repairs. I know the risks involved in such a purchase but getting it for $6000 over half price with that milage made the deal worth the chance to me. I have had zero problems thus far, it has 13,000 miles on it now. I can charge it at home ,level 2, for about 22 cents a KWH which figures out to about 8 cents a mile roughly compared to about 25 cents a mile in my 2011 Eco boost. Now I've had a lot of hotrods in my 55 years of driving and this 8100 lb pickup is by FAR the fastest vehicle I've ever driven. One thing I can't stop thinking about is why Ford can't or won't make it switchable to rear wheel drive to increase the driving range.

Glad you joined, lots of good reading here.
Ford went with permanent magnet motors front & rear which makes it more difficult to switch from 4 wheel to 2 wheel drive.

Welcome to the group, life long gearhead here and I can relate. It is spooky fast isn't it haha.

Like my side arm, they'll have to pry it out of my cold hands to take it from me, easily the most fun to drive.

Welcome. Just as a side note, even if they could do it, the efficiency difference would be negligible since the power output to push the truck would just be shifted to the rear motor, with the heat generated from that, it could conceivably make it less efficient.

Hope to see you around, enjoy the stay.
