This has been discussed a lot over the last year and I think we had come to the conclusion that there is an "extra" cooling loop in the battery but just listening to Kyle's Pro review he said they told him it's two chilling compressors not two loops. I think that makes it fairly likely you can add the second chiller if you want.

I know this is from a couple yrs ago but while Kyle can and does often have good info I would watch Munro and associates you tube videos as they have done tear downs of the lightning and can shed more perspective from an engineering standpoint about the cooling loops.

I hope they do one for the heat pump on the 24โ€™s someday. Wondering what has changed with the vapor injection heat pump max tow like I have.

correction for the OP:

at about 3:40 in the video they talk about the differences:

Ford designs the basic 'non-max tow' version with a single loop that serves the whole truck: air conditioning(cab), motors, radiator, inverters, etc., and battery cooling.

The optional MAX TOW version is simply segregating the BATTERY cooling lines to it's OWN Dedicated Compressor, so that more of the cooling is dedicated to the battery/radiator, but NOT another chiller. The same chiller serves both cooling segments.

Yes, I doubt there is no 'additional' cooling loop for the battery lines with Max Tow, but there is more 'compression/chilling' for those same lines.

An additional COMPRESSOR, and now segregated cooling lines to the battery, are the only difference.

In defense of the OP, this thread is 2.42 years old, before we had a good understanding of the systems particulars as outlined in the Munro video
