On the first photo, the front of the truck has larger fire. That is the the area with no HVB. I wonder if that is where fire started (more time to burn).
More plastic parts in the front could be why the flames look higher in front section. I hope the battery coolant isn't flammable - it has a circuit loop to the front grille. Hopefully, the Ford account and OP are able to share cause.

Wow! Scary !! Glad you guys are safe. Not too sure if it is the weather but I've noticed more issues popping up with the lightning recently? I only have one year ownership and more owners are reporting some type of failure now than during last spring/summer/fall. Is it me or it is a cycle?

1) That was a recall of 950 trucks.
2) That was a staged video by a first responder, posted a year ago.
3) You said FAR more. Please elaborate. You seem to have information.
In Early 2023, there was a fire in a transfer yard that damaged / consumed several trucks. This delayed my 23 XLT SR by about 3 weeks. RCFA determined an installation issue on the HVB.

Glad you are ok. I'm also interested in your manufacturing date. My 2023 Lariat ER here too, built early November 2022.

Thank goodness everyone is well.

I agree ---this sits in the back of my mind as a concern. Especially with a kiddo in car seat.

I know it happens statistically as much with ICE, but the videos of EV fires seem like you've got on the magnitude of maybe 2 minutes before things really get out of control.

Always one guy...
Yes, in today's day and age, you have to ask yourself this, hard to trust much these days...

I am also glad you escaped in time and everyone is ok.

This is a very important question.... how long did it take from, you driving down the street, to it escalating to the inferno in the pictures? A few minutes?... 30 minutes?

Those are some very frightening photos! 😐
Sounded like it was quite quick . . . minutes, to get stuff out of the back, then Poof!

Wow only 3 weeks? Envious! I thought the delay was much longer for most people. My truck was built in Feb 2023 I think? I didn't get it until July.

But on the same topic, I'm curious if maybe OP's truck was missed somehow from that battery recall since they had a '23 model? Real glad you had the foresight to abandon ship OP and that you and yours are safe.

Yes, that's old news and affected very few vehicles. on his post. he implied there were lots of fires. let's see them.

With this degree of fire, I wonder if the flammability of the AC refrigerant contributed to the acceleration of the fire. R1234YF is flammable.

I think ev fires are more dramatic because of how slow they are
A full gas tank has ten times the energy of a full battery

Correction: gas tank has ten times the usable energy

Thank you OP for letting the community know of this disaster. Glad your family is safe. With little kids that are left in the truck during pickups and dropoffs this has honestly scared me straight. Any additional info you can give us about your truck would be greatly appreciated.

without reading the old threads on this, I remember that the in the Feb 2023 fire, the trucks were actively charging
