This is FAR more than the second Lightning fire. OEs don't recall vehicles unless there's been a significant problem.
1) That was a recall of 950 trucks.
2) That was a staged video by a first responder, posted a year ago.
3) You said FAR more. Please elaborate. You seem to have information.

Gotta admit, this is the first incident with the Lightning I’ve seen or heard of for that matter. Several with Teslas but not the Lightning.
There are a lot more Teslas than Ford EVs on the road, so I’d naturally expect more reported incidents with Teslas.

Glad you made it out safe. I cant lie that this is a fear of mine.

I hope you get made whole from this.

If someone knows or could enlighten me..

How does a situation like this get handled? Does Ford have some liability in this type of fire? Does Ford send someone out to look at the truck? Does your personal insurance cover this? This is scary stuff even though not common at all.

I have found myself thinking of the what ifs of this exact situation.

Sorry for the loss of your truck, very happy that you & the family are safe and no other property damage occurred.

Please let us know what the investigation reveals and how well your insurance responds to this.

So sorry to hear this. Glad you got out ok and it wasn’t right next to your house or other vehicles or personal property. I wonder what the popping was? I hope you get enough for Insurance to buy the same or better vehicle.

I would do everything possible to reach out to Ford - DM them here, call the BEV team, etc. The right people at Ford likely would be very interested in investigating further.

Something that may help them is for you to write down everything you remember about the drive. Even things that were normal or seem irrelevant. And when something appeared to go wrong, write down each event on a timeline. How the truck drove and responded, what you heard, saw, felt, smelled, etc., how many seconds/minutes between observations, etc. Do it now before you start to forget.

And keep us updated. We would appreciate any more details you remember and also any conclusions of an investigation.

Glad everyone was safe.

Sadly my truck burned to the ground tonight. Felt a pop under my feet. There was a loud pop followed two smaller ones. We had barely enough time to get a few things out of the back seat before it was fully engulfed in flames. Scary night.

This is off-the-charts crazy. Glad everyone is safe now and unharmed!

Just a random thought. I noticed you live in an area where snow occurs. I know that water + salt + electricity = conductivity. I wonder if some salt got somehow into the battery enclosure and shorted something out?

I hope Ford looks into this one like Sherlock Holmes.

On the first photo, the front of the truck has larger fire. That is the the area with no HVB. I wonder if that is where fire started (more time to burn).

Glad no injuries and sorry about the loss. Looking at the photos of road conditions - snow and ice. Were the roads treated with salt? Possible conductivity issue? Hope your insurance coverage is sufficient for replacement.

I’m glad there are no injuries and fatalities. It’s scary to see something like this happening when you consider having these cars parked inside your garage. Please update what the cause was. Take care.

Glad you're ok, find another before they dry up. I can't go back to a regular gasoline or diesel truck now, I'm spoiled. My wife wants a Mach-e GT now.
