I've successfully used Plug & Charge at Tesla superchargers previously, always receiving an email from Ford within a few hours of the charge being complete with the details of the session, including cost.
About 2 miles from our vacation home is a shopping mall that has both a Chargepoint Level 2 station (free charging) and, immediately adjacent to it, a Tesla supercharger with 8 stalls (that I had never used previously, until last week). During the warm weather months, I drive my Lightning to the Chargepoint Level 2 station, initiate charging via the Ford app, hop on my bicycle that I had loaded in the bed, and ride home. I'd leave my Lightning there for many hours until it reached the charging limit I set in the app and then ride my bike back to retrieve the Lightning. Free charging is good.
A week ago, with temperatures close to 0 degrees F and my Lightning at 16% state-of-charge, I used the adjacent Tesla supercharger to get up to 90% in about an hour. Added 72.4 kWh. Drove the Lightning home.
It has been a week since the Tesla session and I never received an email from Ford with the charging session details. The only credit card I have on my Plug & Charge account does not have any transactions or holds for the Tesla charge session.
Seems unlikely, but did the Ford app think I was at the Chargepoint charger and not bill me? The location description listed under the summary in the screenshot above (blacked out) is what I have saved for the Chargepoint in the Target Charge Locations section of the app. I don't have the Tesla supercharger saved as a Target Charge Location.
It is strange that I haven't received an email from Ford with the Tesla receipt & details. I even searched my "junk" and "spam" email folders with no results. It's been a week.
Did I get a "freebie"?
