So let's say you set up a trip. You've got, say, 5 charging stops to make. When you get to charge stop #3 the charger is out of order. Is there an option on the screen to say this charger is OOO so that it will automatically direct you to the next closest spot? Or better yet, it keeps a running database of chargers that are known to be working to avoid this?
Really not the appropriate thread for this question

A question about whether or not the Google EV routing can handle hiccups in said routing doesn't belong in a thread about EV routing in Google maps?

Um, ok.

Um the thread is about the Google Maps not performing EV routing (as in not connecting to the truck through Android Auto and integrating vehicle battery charge state status) on some models of F150 Lightning. So yeah, your question doesn't belong. If you had read the thread it would be quite obvious.

But since we're here, still no AA route planning for my '25 Flash despite another complaint to the dealer while they did the brake recall.

I end up doing a combination of ABRP and Google maps. I try to navigate using Google because it gives me traffic hazards and detours when needed. I even use pen and paper occasionally. Tesla mapping is weird. I always start out looking for chargers in the western part of Africa. Occasionally it will show no chargers where I'm actually at one. Also occasionally the Tesla charger will be close enough to another that I'll be at one that is Tesla only. In saying this Tesla is, by far, the most reliable and the cheapest. Also there have been several times where a session has gone to the Ford plug and charge after my thinking I had initiated the charge through the Tesla app.

Road tripping in an EV is surely not as convenient as in an ICE vehicle nor any cheaper but I'll never go back.

I disagree. It's very appropriate, which I think is obvious.

But since your desire is to be disgruntled, do you go into the other three dozen threads that get updated daily and lambast folks who go "off topic"? Because we all know that every thread on this (and any) forum strays. I'll expect to see you there policing them from now on. All of them.

Well, there's something else that needs to be fixed in this system then. The number of charge stations I've seen out of order both in person and in YouTube videos with these trucks seems to be a fairly significant percentage. How bad would it suck if you're desperately trying to get to that next charge station only to find when you make it there that you can't charge?

Oh, and for whatever it's worth, my 6/25 build does seem to show EV charging when I connect my S25 Ultra to it. I didn't make any settings changes, it just automatically shows EV charge routing if I plan a trip, and shows other info in my gauge cluster and on the infotainment screen to help as well.

Yeah it works on some and not on others. You got lucky. I would play with it and try to find out how but...it does not work on my truck.

Imagine pulling into a location with 12 open chargers just as the tech pulls the master breaker to replace a fuse...

Imagine pulling into a location to find it full, going to the next location and finding it full, and repeating this until finally waiting at location #4. Yeah, CA is fun...

Imagine pulling into a 4 charger EA location, one working, and negotiating with the line to a) create order and b) get people to agree to only charge enough to get to the next charger, and c) calling EA and being told that the executive suite told them not to reboot any of these old chargers because they might bring down the whole site...

If you're taking a trip, you'll want to plan the trip in ABRP, lookup every charging location in PlugShare ahead of time and day of trip, AND lookup the charging location in its proprietary app to see price (including possible time of day pricing) as well as operational status.

No, there is not one app that does all this.
No, there is no app that takes COST into account.
Yes, some apps do offer takes on whether it's operational, or how many are open, but you trust those at your own peril.

Should it be easier? Yes. Is this much advanced from 2021/2022? Absolutely. I remember contacting hotel chains like Marriot, Hilton and others to include EV charging as a filter in their apps and websites. Now they do.
