I saw a few mentions about the a/c system being noisy but I think mine, 2023 Lariat ER, is getting too loud. I've been getting intermittent cooling issues lately too so I may be listening too hard. Attached are some sound bites.



Mine sounds just like this when I precondition it. I can hear it from inside my house :/

Ford tech support suggested replacing the expansion valve which is readily available. I am out of town but will update soon.
Please let me know what they say. Mine has that high pitched noise at the end as well.

Are these max to equipped vehicles? Does anybody know how to force the secondary loop on?

Max Tow is a paid for item for trims below Platinum, I don't see it listed on your sticker, so you don't have it.

FYI to all interested, the Max Tow Lightnings will have the chiller/exchanger unit located to the right side of the 12v battery (looking into the frunk)

Does anybody know how to force the secondary loop on?
Some have suggested that putting the drive mode into Sport or Tow/Haul 'might' but it's only going to actually activate when the drive motors or battery pack start to exceed high temp's, I'm not certain what the specification is.

Oh great!
Please let me know what they say. Mine has that high pitched noise at the end as well.

I doubt any noise change will come about but I'll be sure to post. I just hope I get a cold interior again.

I had the repair sequence out of order but here's the technician's summary. I can't verify result as I am out of town...

"Verify concern A/C not cooling properly. Perform visual inspection and compressor is running. Perform electrical diagnosis self test no codes present. Check refrigerant charge pressures and found with A/C on max high side 110 and low side is getting sucked into a vacuum. Contact hotline and advised to check low side hoses for a restriction. Recover refrigerant from system and only reclaimed 6.92 oz. Per hotline removed air conditioning line bundle from expansion valve, high voltage battery cooler, compressor, and receiver/drier to inspect and blow air through lines to check for restrictions. No restrictions found, reinstall line bundle, evacuate and recharge system with 27 ozR-1234yf and recheck system operation and found high sidepressure to be excessively high and then started blowing outrelief valve on compressor. Suspected thermostatic expansionvalve TXV stuck closed causing the excessive high sidepressure. Recover refrigerant again and replace thermostatic expansion valve, evacuate and recharge system again 27 ozR-1234yf and recheck system operation, low side 30 psi and high side 160 and blowing cold air out vents."

Suspected thermostatic expansion valve TXV stuck closed causing the excessive high side pressure.
Seems logical, wonder if others have had this issue or if it's a one in a million failure?
