BCCM/SOBDM will run DC to DC converter all the time? Or maybe sense if 12Vdc drops below 12.8v then fires it up. Curious to see what happens with that. Maybe never need to replace 12v battery.

I know I’m driving a Ford lightning and over the air software updates are slim to none.

So, when I had a drivetrain error for 30 days, I drove a Ford Explorer and the Sync software the Ford Explorer had was so much better than my lightning?

I don’t know why Ford can’t use the same Sync software for every vehicle? The Explorer had features that my lightning doesn’t.

That Ford Explorer made my lightning look like I’m driving in 1965 analogue Chevy Impala.

Care to share a few of them? I drove my SIL's '24 Expedition a couple weeks ago and it seems to be running the same SW we have. It has the big screen with 4A.

This program changes the way the "unlock" button reacts when pushed without the FOB nearby or the doors unlocked. Previously a DCFC session could be terminated by a passerby, and they could steal your Tesla adapter. With this change that should no longer happen.

Updated the thread title just in case this is only applicable to MME's, certainly would be nice on the Lightnings, if anyone sees this on a Lightning let us know, and I or the OP can adjust the thread title as needed.

The update the Mach-Es got specifically prevent disconnecting the DCFC while your car is locked. Like at a rest stop and you walk away to go use the bathroom, some random person cant unplug your car.

Thanks - I didn't realize they had finally made it to production with an android based system.
I’m guessing it wouldn’t be possible for Ford to upgrade our Sync based system to an Android system so we might be stuck with Windows 95 in our trucks.

There are ways to upgrade a small screen to a larger screen in our current trucks, but I know they are starting to encrypt some of the CAN's and I'm guessing the Android system would have too many changes overall for it to be retrofitted. Never say never, but at what cost and time? And would Ford ever be able to update your truck again. I can't imagine anyone going through this vs just trading trucks if it means that much to you. We don't even know when the retrofit will come to the F-150. It was supposed to have been in the Lightning 2 years ago.
