Everyone down plays Ford’s battery architecture, but the battery is easily serviceable.

In GM’s case how will you service or fix a massive 200kwh battery that is basically a structural piece of the truck.

also how long will it take to charge such a massive battery?

time will tell, but I think they are all going the wrong way about this.

Yikes, hope the production versions are a little more trimmed up. It looks small inside too.

Looks good for a Work Truck.

Love the range but it might be time to start comparing cost of charging. Filling up that big pack can’t be cheap…

I have owned both GMC/Chevy trucks and have always found them to be smaller and less comfortable than Fords. Admittedly, as he claims in the video, the backseat definitely looks bigger than ICE models. There were times when getting my kids car seats into my Silverado was a balancing act to get them to fit. To me, that's the true test if I'm going to switch.

Empty to full at an EA station you are looking at over $90, or almost $70 for Pass+ members.

A more reasonable 20% to 80% charge will cost $55 / $40

Pending any membership discounts, the cost to fill the Silverado is the same as filling a Chevy Volt since $/kWh is all that really matters. Just like when we all drove ICE trucks, the $/gallon to fill a Prius is the same as my 33 gallon FX4.
I’m talking about compared to the Lightning. Big Battery (Range) vs Smaller Battery (Range)

Basically is the bigger battery the answer

Surprise!!! That $40k version is going to be $50k (at least). Wouldn't be surprised if there's further price updates before its actually available. The 4wt they showed is a fleet spec and has vinyl seats in an $80k+ truck. That's going to be a hard sell to all but government fleets that are being mandated to transition to EV. It will be interesting to see what the retail trims under the RST bring and at what price.

Also it weighs 1000 lbs more than the lightning.

Can’t wait for the 2nd gen Lightning.

Ford will want that EV crown and other than Styling (Cybertruck) they will have a benchmark from every EV Truck that they will need to exceed.
