'23 Lightning. In the last few months, I've started noticing an intermittent creaking coming from the passenger side door area. I've removed all sorts of variables which I thought may be the culprit, but the creaking persists. It primarily occurs when driving over less smooth roadways.

Has anyone had this issue and if so, how did you approach it with your Dealer? My dealer, the moment I use the word "intermittent" will require me to hire a forensic investigator to collect evidence and document the precise issue (they are really unsupportive and try to deter any sort of warranty work). So is this some general issue with the truck and if so, any suggestions for how to tackle it?

I’ve had a similar issue where it also happens when driving on rough roads. In my case, it was caused by a small body panel rubbing against the headlight.

I contacted my local Ford dealership, but they were not helpful and did not attempt to fix it. I have multiple dealerships in my area, so I plan on trying a different location next time I take it in to get this resolved.

Maybe some of the suggestions in this thread will help you with your local dealership if it's this specific issue or a similar one.

I definitely have that, and the sound is comparable, but the sound I am hearing is almost certainly coming from inside the cabin.

If you have a moonroof, roll back the sun screen full retract, does the sound go away?

Also as mentioned in post #4, the rubber seals on the glass might need exercising and possibly a clean & lubrication.

I had a very similar problem and it was the small triangular plastic piece that is on the interior door area where the mirror is. It was basically clipped in slightly askew so that every tiny little twist that the truck did over bumps made it click. Reseating the plastic cover made it go away

I had issue in my rear area when going over small humps or turning. Made a muffled thunk. Problem is truck is so quiet, you hear everything. Then I remembered its a truck and not a Bentley, it will make noise. I don't even hear it anymore, got used to it.

I don't think dealer will waste their time looking for a creak.

This is the sound, yes.
If it was like mine then it's this triangular plastic trim attached to the passenger door. All I had to do to fix was reseat it. Looking head on at the piece with the door open dig your finger nails under the trim and pull straight toward you. Should pop right off. You can use a plastic pry tool if it makes you nervous about breaking a tab though. Then simply shove it back into place.

I haven't heard the noise since and that was over a year ago.
