Part arrived today and it took me an hour to replace. Code cleared itself after. So tell me, why was my quote for the repair $1,500? Is the labor rate $1,300 an hour at the dealership? Dealerships wonder why people don't like them, this is why!

Thanks for sharing. It is great news that you were able to do it yourself. Did You have to do anything challenging to take the bubbles out of cooling system? Any advice for anyone that has never done this before but is brave/stupid enough to try? I expect to have this problem again.

With as little coolant as I lost I'm not worried. It looked to be less than 1/2 a cup of coolant in the valve. I'm going to watch the reservoir, but I'm pretty confident that the small bubble will work itself out.
