I was continually having issues with my bed outlets not activating, followed by a service message. I live in Ohio, and it was typically after a heavy snow. The connectors are directly in the path of tire spray, even with weathertech mud flaps installed. They were packed with snow after the latest 1ft+ snowstorm we had.If your truck had spray in liner, it's possible the connectors for the output panel in the bed might not be seated sufficiently, IIRC they remove the panel when doing the liner install, then restore it once the coating has cured, other members have experienced it being completely disconnected.
I disassembled and cleaned the connectors thoroughly, reassembled with dielectric grease, and protected with some cheapo mud flaps I picked up on Amazon. Haven’t had an issue since. Poor engineering/placement of these connectors by Ford. Problem solved.
