If I was able to clear the error and drive for 10 miles this morning, but then have a five hour drive in a few hours, will I have anything to worry about? Is it possible the error was just a fluke and I will be good to make this drive today? Has anyone else run into the error and cleared it with a 12v disconnect/reconnect and then been able to drive a significant distance without running into any more issues? I'm a bit worried about driving through some long rural stretches in cold weather with my wife, son, and dog for fear we may end up stranded.

Before getting to far out of town or in reach of a DCFC, try doing test charge just to know it's working, maybe also do an AC charging test. Hopefully it's a fluke and your journey will be uneventful, otherwise if these test fail, you are a reasonable reach for a tow to a nearby Ford service department.

I had similar, if not the same messages after an update once. I had to go to work so I cleared the messages and went to work. That was months ago and I haven't had issues since. Your mileage may vary.

Edit: below is the ForsPass message I received. I don't recall what the messages in the truck said.

I have plugged back into my Grizzl-e at our cottage and it is accepting a charge again now. Topping up to 100% before heading out of town for sure. Fingers crossed I'm all good for the trip home. I just scheduled a service appointment for tomorrow morning.

I had one "stop safely now" message months ago after plugging in level 1 charger. It cleared itself and never came back.

Well, I managed to get the truck home to Chicago from our cottage in Wisconsin without any troubles yesterday and it is sitting at the dealer now having that issue looked into and having 4 out of the current 5 recalls dealt with and also having the couple other warranty issues I have dealt with. Sadly, the one recall I really wanted now that it is cold here in Chicago (the heated steering wheel), they say Ford can't fulfill currently due to a computer problem of some sort.
