Mine were loose and going on 3 months now waiting on the parts. Reminds me that I need to call and make sure they haven't' forgotten.

I can’t even get any of the dealerships to look at mine, want me to leave the truck with them for at least 3 days minimum, with no loaner car available

Got the Safety Recall Notice in the mail last week, made a service appointment, took the 2024 Flash to the dealership yesterday 6/17/25. Was there roughly 3 hours (unsure of the status) while they inspected and reportedly tightened the nuts. No additional parts needed. Was told I was done, drove it home.

I had this done. They check the torq if it’s in spec they change the nuts. If they are loose they change the ball joints. Mine were fine they changed the nuts and torque them.

Notice any difference in the ride?

Had mine done last week when they rotated tires. They actually picked it up at my house did the work and returned it. Since I’m about 20 miles away I appreciated this.

You may want to check the torque yourself, after the recall work is complete.

The dealer had my truck for a day to look at a tail light with condensation and to address the recall. The truck had about 8000 miles on it at the time. At 10,000 miles I rotated the tires myself - while I had the tires off I checked the torque. I found the drivers side nut was at least to the specified torque. The passenger side nut required about an eighth of a turn to get to the specified torque.

I'm left wondering whether the dealer didn't torque the new nut to spec, or if they didn't perform the check on one (or both) sides.

If the nuts were snug and just not torqued properly, there may be no wear and it would be safe to drive after the nuts are torqued properly. The dealer is probably replacing the parts as a precaution rather than an obvious need. I suspect that this is the vast majority of cases, or we would see more incidents.

The safety risk is stated clearly in the recall notice. I would not feel safe driving a truck with compromised ball joints. They are a critical item holding your suspension together. If they were loose and the dealer had to order parts to replace worn parts, it would not be very safe to drive IMHO. Even if they tightened the loose nuts, the parts will still be worn and loose. I can't speak for your dealer, but I'd be really surprised if any mechanic would let the truck off the lot if the parts were obviously worn.

Just got off the phone with my dealer. Dropping my truck off Friday. The service scheduler said they had a lot of the needed parts available. My dealership is a major fleet supplier for OR and WA, so they are handling a lot of these repairs. If it’s an option for you, I’d find a fleet dealer to ensure they have parts on hand. Good luck everyone and drive safe!

reach up and check them. When I got my notice in February, I checked them and they were tight. The dealer did the recall in April while doing my NY yearly inspection

I agree with Adventureboy's post:

The notice says:

"CSP 24S76 refers to a Ford Motor Company field service action (recall) for the 2023 and 2024 F-150 Lightning electric trucks. This recall affects vehicles where the nut on the front upper control arm ball joint may not have been properly torqued, potentially leading to steering control issues and an increased risk of a crash....
...Consequences: Separation of the front upper control arm from the knuckle assembly, which can lead to loss of directional control and a crash."

It’s safe to drive. Mine is 2024 lariat is is done last week, the remedy is available everywhere, some dealers just are not interested in doing the recall repair in peak season when everyone is traveling and they have oil change tire change . If I were you I’d try different dealers to see if they take you and please put a complaint email to Ford just to record the incident ( remember lat time dealership were selling lightning over the MSRP) we collectively said no and price came down, don’t let these dealers get away a bad customer service, Ford doesn’t appreciate that.
