Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning pickups over a potential brake fluid leak.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the front brake jounce hose bracket screws may loosen and detach, which can allow the jounce hose to contact the tire and result in a brake fluid leak.

The hazards: a brake fluid leak can extend the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: front brake jounce hose bracket screws

Affected vehicles: select 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning pickups built between March 13th, 2025, and April 24th, 2025.

Number of vehicles affected: 5

The fix: dealers will inspect the front brake hose and replace both brake jounce hose bracket screws, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin July 14th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25S71.

5?

"Well, Fred was in the john, cleaning out last night's Mexican, and Eddie took over and didn't screw the screws in good. Luckily, Fred's bathroom brake was quick, that Mexican sure comes out fast!"
