Weird that .5 said it was WAL but wasn't and that .X says it's not WAL but is.

I wish we knew . It is an APIM update so unless you got the BCM / Frunk update a couple of months ago (or your dealer updated the BCM), you won't have WAL functionality no matter what this update did. As @rugedraw pointed out in another thread, BCM requires an inhibit update and APIM does not. So one update alone can't enable WAL.

There is some conflicting info reported here - but it may have turned WAL on in the background but didn't show the toggles apparently. Again, even if it enabled it in the background, you won't get the functionality without the BCM update.

Yea, idk wtf is going on with these APIM updates. This WAL stuff has me dizzy at this point. All I know is that the buttons don't need to be there for WAL to work.

Pretty sure this solve my CarPlay issue where audio doesn't work until you reconnect or restart sync. Haven't had the issue since!

I just got this today as well but already have the bcm updated and WAL so will have to see if there is any difference in operation.

I received the version of this ending in .5 and while WAL still works about the same, but PAAK has gone to pot. It may be more about when the truck is in a deeper sleep, but most of the time I have to unlock my phone and still some times open the Ford app before it will unlock. It does seem to have some better response if it has been driven. Haven't nailed it down, but will confirm my PAAK is not as good as it was just a couple weeks back.

I was in the boat a few weeks ago and nothing changed. Still works but no toggles. I don’t need the toggles anyway, because I have no intentions of turning it off.
