I tried to get the dealer to update knowing I would need to pay the diagnostic fee. But I said no after they told me it would take 5 days to diagnose 😂 smh...... I mean, Im telling you CarPlay is hit or miss with sound, I am telling you there is a TSB out.......Why 5 days to diagnose? WTF......
Call the BEV team or have @Ford Motor Company help. There should be no diagnostic fee for a TSB designed to specifically address a customers complaints.

I requested to have TSB 25-2048 done. I was advised that it had been superseded by TSB 25-2105. The paperwork showed that they only updated the BCM. However, it appears that in addition to updating the BCM there were several additional modules updated (ABS, BECM, PCM, SOBDM, SOBDMB, and SOBDMC).

Unfortunately, since XLT 311A doesn't have passive entry or PAAK walkaway lock was not enabled.

I think a lot of people have the silent carplay issue. But I thought I was the only one on the speakers except mine is the rear will stop working. Bout as frequently as you say. Half the time though it happens I probably don't even know because I'm the only one in the vehicle.
Initially, after this TSB I had zero occurrences of this issue for a blissful 2-3 weeks. Now sadly the issue is back and is right around 1 out of 5 starts. 😩

Does iOS 18.4.1 fix this for you? Supposedly this update, which dropped earlier this week fixes this issue.

So I've had the TSB done at the dealer to address the carplay freezing and losing connection and the 18.4.1 update from Apple to address the issue and carplay turned off and restarted or turned off without restarting about a dozen times yesterday in about 3 hours of driving. No issues in my other two cars.

Yeah it’s an annoying issue. I’ve been roving a rental Hyundai in Costa Rica for a week and CarPlay works like a charm 100% @Ford Motor Company.

I have walk away locks now after the TSB update. I also enabled the toggle in forscan. I haven’t actually experienced it operating yet. How long do I need to wait or how far do I need to be from the truck for it to lock?

Sometimes I can't even make it to the passenger side before it locks and other times it takes 30-45 sec and sometimes not at all if passengers exit a while after i walk away from the truck. This is using paak. Will also lock you out if you leave your phone in the truck. The fob seems to be a bit more consistent.

For anyone that has the power steps, it spits them back out when the truck locks. Changed mine to wait 5 min before retracting the steps.

I typically keep the fob with me. I got out of the truck yesterday and walked away roughly 40 ft and waited about a minute and nothing happened. 🤷‍♂️

Went by dealer in Blacksburg VA (only one) to inquire about this update. They wanted a $168 diagnostic feed and to keep the truck for 3 days. Apparently there is a need for techs to verify the issue occurs before they could apply anything. And there was no guarantee that any updates would be applied. I cancelled the appointment.

Glad to hear some folks have had success in getting this applied but I'm not sure it is worth the haggle for me. If I'm going to spend money on a software update I suppose I want a reasonable guarantee it would get applied. I'm intrigued by the idea of just getting FDRS and the cable to enable myself to periodically apply things going forward. Also wonder if perhaps regional user groups might help in applying these sorts of updates where you might share or rent the equipment to apply them.

I might raise this as a concern when the truck goes in for CSP issue on May 8th.
