It’s not really a physical switch in that there are set positions. You can spin it 360 degrees if you want.Pardon my ignorance but how does the physical light switch for the headlights revert to auto?
In my understanding if the headlight switch is physically set to "off" the headlights and taillights and whatnot should not come on if the command is sent to precondition the truck.
Yeah I knew it wasn't a physical switch but I didn't know it reset itself after the truck has been off for more than a minute until I just tested it.It’s not really a physical switch in that there are set positions. You can spin it 360 degrees if you want.
Not in my test earlier today. The running lights (not headlights) came on when the truck started climate control in a scheduled departure. So the lights definitely stay off using scheduled departure during the day.
As mentioned, it's not a switch that the headlight circuit passes through like we had in the 80's. It's called a rotary encoder and it sends an up/down signal to the Body Control Module (BCM). The BCM handles all the lighting control logic and tells the proper LED on the switch to illuminate. Could easily just replace the headlight switch with up/down momentary buttons.Pardon my ignorance but how does the physical light switch for the headlights revert to auto?

You mentioned you turned off DRL using forscan, maybe turning DRL in the truck menu does something more than just that flag? Not in my test earlier today. The running lights (not headlights) came on when the truck started climate control in a scheduled departure.
Imagine a world where your truck is not parked in a garage but instead say the parking lot at work and you have something valuable in it and the lights turn on because of scheduled departure time drawing attention to it wouldn't you want the doors locked?Since I keep my fob in the truck, I have to enter my door key code to open the door. Why lock the doors as part of scheduled departure?
sounds like a dreamSame here after retiring. No more 0453 alarm clock and 0530 or so departure - he says with a smile...
I love that there is a belief that there is less BS in the public sector than in the private sector. In my experience (having done both), the only thing worse than government being in charge is corporations being in chargesounds like a dream
at least I can retire from the public sector soon and go back to the private sector. the bs that I put up with on a daily basis is beyond the pale.
but I had a kid late so I've got a ways to go before I can finally hang it up.
