When I drive by Rivian truck drivers they give me a head nod. We are not the same.

I would go as far as saying we are DIFFERENT.When I drive by Rivian truck drivers they give me a head nod. We are not the same.

"Built different" as the zoomers would say. But literally: true body-on-frame vs "unibody-on-frame".I would go as far as saying we are DIFFERENT.
Uh…multiple personality disorder? When I drive by Rivian truck drivers they give me a head nod. We are not the same.

There's pros and there's cons with the truck. In the end if you're looking for a traditional truck, Ford's done it and knows it. The ability to not have to think and rigger up a bed extender, tow cams, tow mirrors, etc is amazing.I bumped into a Rivian owner Friday night at an EA station in NH. He got out as I was plugging in and asked for my feedback. Told him out of all the F-150's I've had, this one was by far and away my favorite. He said he was a bit "underwhelmed" with the Rivian but was stuck with it for a few more years before he could get out of it. I took pity on him![]()
The Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde of the EV truck world.Uh…multiple personality disorder?
Having owned both, this is spot on. Rivian wins on suspension, comfort and tech; Ford wins on actually being a full size truck and all the perks of being an F150 (body on frame, accessories, service locations, etc). I prefer the Rivian, but only because I'm a weekend warrior and I don't need a full-size truck. If I was taking it to a job site, it's the Lightning all day every day. There's pros and there's cons with the truck. In the end if you're looking for a traditional truck, Ford's done it and knows it. That said, props where it's due. The seats are phenomenal on the Rivian. The suspension is out of this world in its ability to go from off road to sports truck to (with the new update) luxury/comfort and that handling in a truck is envious. It's far more useful as a truck as one would expect as well especially with the 4.5' bed. But at the end of the day it does EVERYTHING pretty well, but doesn't do any one thing exceptionally well. If I wanted a sports car, I can get a better one in a Porsche. If I wanted a truck, I have a better EV truck in the F-150. If I wanted the locked in/proprietary tech, the tech is better in a Tesla. If I wanted a reliable car like truck, the Ridgeline is hard to beat especially that tailgate. But if I wanted it all in one? The Rivian is it, all while looking like Baymax from Big Hero 6.
