Is this a slimy dealer GPS tracker?

I was doing some scouting around the car while I prepare for an audio upgrade project. I discovered this with a power wire tapped into the back of the ODB interface. Does anyone recognize it? Is this one of those sleazy slimy trackers that dealers install on the car and don’t tell you about? This does not appear to be a part of my dash cam.

If you bought the truck used yep it's a tracker, they install them to help the repo man if needed. Some of them use immobilizers as well that prevent you from starting a vehicle unless the note is paid.

Bought new and did not see anything in the paperwork about this. It taps power of the OBD wires. Even if they buried it, they would have to disclose it. Law school taught me to read closely but it’s always possible they buried it in the fine mini fine print. It’s coming out as I get home and I will check my mache now.

Jealous wife/gf? I find it hard to believe they put that on a new vehicle unless perhaps it was a lease.

Here is what it is, definitely a tracker.... Not a budget one either, so it's likely they charged for it in some hidden line in your deal paperwork. If they didn't disclose it anywhere, you may want to take it out, and return to the dealership with it in hand and start asking questions, since it's not likely legal if it was not disclosed.

My Ford dealer used TheftPatrol on my Escape, it was an ADM at the time.
The sticker was the same as the linked Toyota post.

Find a friendly otr trucker and tap it off a brake light. It will occasionally come active in strange locations around the country.

Or, take it apart and see if it has a sim card in it. If it does you may have free internet!
