Speed governor

Does anybody know if it’s possible to take off the speed governor?

Not so far. Closest I’ve seen is lying to the truck about tire size using Forscan. If you tell it the wheels are smaller than they really are, you’ll be going faster than the truck thinks. Of course the speedo and odometer will be off too. And I assume there’s a limit to how low you can go. I read somewhere someone did that at the track and gained a couple MPH. Don’t know details though.

Are you referring to the top speed of 106-107 mph?

I'd have to look-- but I'd think it's probably something to do with the tires. I'm not sure through. You can definitely feel it slow down when you hit the limiter.

When I have the "need for Speed" my 2012 ZX14r does the trick

You all are going to make me miss my snowmobiling days. Nothing like bombing across a lake at a buck fifteen, in the dark and blowing snow, and have a fishhouse suddenly flash by....

There is a FORSCAN setting related to Police use that says "max speed". I dont believe it will have any effect on our trucks but might be worth a try.

I just checked the tires on my Lariat ER on stock wheels and the speed rating is T. That’s 118mph/190kph. So the tires are good up until then.

I purchased a slightly used F150, lightning Pro, 2022. It was formally of Fleet vehicle that had A 75 mph speed governor pre-programmed into the vehicle.

After a second trip to the dealership, and I’m talking to the “ford Hotline” It was finally moved on or after they reprogrammed the

Yes!
After two trips to the dealership, they learned that they had to reprogram the PATS System (passive antitheft system).
This is includes the ‘My Key function’.

This finally removed the 75 mph speed governor on my F150 pro lightning, that I previously been a fleet vehicle.

This information was not readily available to the service department and required several consults through the “Ford Hotline” by the service dept To finally get the solution.

That could have been done with forscan at home. All that dos it put the truck back to its stock speed limiter.
