Hey Tony.. just got notified that they *do* still include the q4 harness and my C4 bundle should be here in a couple of days! A long 6+ week wait.. but better than 12 weeks I guess lol!

Did the coupler get shipped yet?

I didn't get a tracking number or anything. How did you send it?
I shipped most of the orders today. I ran out of cases for the last two that came in, but they will be out tomorrow. You will get an email from pirate ship once the label is created and I typically drop them off the same day as the label is created.

Hey Alan... as usual, thanks for tolerating the newbie questions.

I don't think a ping pong over the course of 1 minute would bother me. However I have been reading your other thread on the gen14 forum and it seems that high mounting it would screw with the Comma.ai base model code that has been training on a much lower smaller vehicle.
So I was wondering if anyone had actually mounted a recent Sunnypilot model up to the top of the windshield. I feel like it could do a better job if it could see more (like being able to see over a hump in the road quicker than a driver who was sat lower down the windshield)

Would ping ponging be the worst case issue or would it start other issues like running up curbs or missing corners?
The high mounting position only affects red light and stop signs. So if those are not important to you, go as high as you like.

Off-center should not hit curbs or anything, just ping pong.

Guess he's not aware of the little hole in the bottom of the grab handle for the very purpose of taking off that cap. :cwl:
he seems to imply my video will damage your handle. and he doesn't link my video, so none of the questions that have already been asked on my video will be visible.

Yeah.. the more I watched, the more I realized he was pretty clueless as to what he was doing but he got there in the end, bless him!

The videos rambled a lot, so the Youtube AI summary was helpful. lol

It was interesting to see some of the C4 sunnypilot interface stuff that I haven't seen elsewhere.

Comma.AI are obviously focussed on their code and processes more than making some decent support material for their new product. Their website help for Comma 4 links to your Comma 3 video from months ago... and their support materials are all out of date.
It's a pity they don't have more AI on their website to scrape these forums and github and give people the latest greatest.
It is hard to figure this stuff out from scratch and keep up with what is out of date and what isn't.

Despite the fact that they no longer call a comma a "dev kit" they still get rude whenever someone who is not a techy developer who loves linux and github shows up on the discord asking for help. if you are not a true dev, you are not worthy of using their product.

I am banned from their discord for criticism of their documentation, so you can guess how likely it is that will change.

I do my best to make support material, but bluepilot is a team of 3 volunteers, and we all have jobs and kids. Our resources are limited.

do you still recommend konek over comma ai if you don't care for the slightly bigger screen?

I think the culture of Konik is customer centric, and if the cost is equal once you consider the international shipping and fees, there is no reason not to choose them, especially if you want a smooth customer service experience.

in Canada so the international shipping is a wash for me...good to know! I'll keep an eye on a harness to try to out

I suppose that is the downside. Comma isn’t shipping harnesses unless packaged with a C4 currently.

They showed back in stock last I looked. I was shopping for some odds and ends and noticed they weren’t on back order anymore.

People must have snatched them up. I just checked and they are gone again

Could have been a mistake at the time when I looked. They had the full harnesses on back order before, but you could order all the pieces separately, so it seems like they aren’t even sure at this point 🤣

It is pretty pathetic. I admire their work, but when I hear stories like about their disdain for their customers it is troubling. You are making their product better and more valuable at no cost to them.

Thank you. That's enough information for me to decide the FitCam has to be relocated, not the C4. My wife fights motion sickness enough as it is, I definitely don't want to make it worse. LOL
I'm about to pull the trigger on a C4 and currently have a FitCam. How and where did you relocate it?

was mine one of the stragglers by any chance? It would be great to get all the parts together if possible.. The C4 is due to be here tomorrow so they say.
