Always confirm that the body shop you intend to use is certified by Ford.
The Ford Certified Collision Network (FCCN) is Ford’s official program for body shops, guaranteeing they have the necessary OEM-approved tools, equipment, and trained professionals to restore your vehicle to factory safety standards.
Using an FCCN-certified shop ensures your Ford's warranty is preserved and its safety ratings are fully restored.
Also, make sure you file a diminished value claim with the insurance company responsible for the repair of your Lightning.

From some of the photos in the original thread, I might question the current body shop's ability to even execute a relatively simple repair by welding. Can you get their welder's certification paperwork? I guess likely not. Can you inspect and photograph the weld (and the rest of the area where they did all that weird cutting) before everything is painted and reassembled?

Depending on the state, diminished value may not be available if your carrier is making the repair - even if the accident is not your fault. I ran into that issue a few years back where the at fault driver‘s insurance carrier denied the claim due to an uncooperative driver.

This brings a new dimension to what it means "for Ford to continue supporting the Lightning."

It goes beyond the new EV stuff and back to the old "how do we get this repaired". Again, glad we have Lightnings we can access this Ford Repair team.

A consideration for me in purchasing the Lightning was the understanding that the F150 platform is easier to repair.
