Took my truck in yesterday for the recall, the oily stain on my condenser, and I asked about the three year brake fluid change. I got the truck back today with the following.

26SB6 Lightbar recall: The truck passed the lightbar recall inspection and Ford approved the pictures. So recall complete for me and no parts needed.

Oily stain on a:c condenser viewed through louvers. Truck is out of warranty so paid $200 for an A/C diagnostic to check on the greasy looking condenser stain. See my post on this stain.

https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/possible-radiator-leak.36407/

No leaks found. They pulled all the Freon from both systems (max tow package) and found no decrease in specified levels. They cleaned the stain for me and I guess I’ll just monitor cabin, battery, and motor cooling.

They seemed unaware of the 3 year brake fluid change recommended in the owners manual. Service advisor said they generally recommend fluid changes at the 5 year point. Pretty dry climate here in Arizona so I’ll kick that can down the road to 4-5 years.

Some technicians use a tester to measure moisture content, if it passes then no need to flush.

I’ll add this PSA. When I arrived home with the truck, I opened the frunk to put some items back in there. It would not close with the fob or the button on the hood or the button inside the cab It did NOT beep or make any noise at all. I closed the hood manually and then opened it with the hood frunk button just fine. However, once again it would not close electrically.

it appears the technician replaced the passenger side frunk cover (where the a:c service port is) such that it was pressing on the “pinch” strip. I loosened the passenger side frunk panel and pushed it inboard AWAY from the pinch sensor. And felt it drop down a bit. After that the frunk opened and closed normally.

No problem except if I had not known to check the pinch sensor I would be forced to manually close the frunk until I could return to the dealer to fix it. I will assume the technician must have closed the frunk manually but did not check its operation open/close afterwards and assumed it was good to go. Not cool!

So the bottom line for everyone here on the forum is: if your frunk opens normally but will not close…check that the left and right frunk panels are fully clear of the pinch sensors.

Had the Rear Light recall conducted last week. The light has never shown an issue throughout this entire debacle. Passed with no change. (Thank Goodness).

Ev tech at my dealership in Columbia, KY is also the dealerships master mechanic. 😊. Kudos to Cody.

When this program was first announced I went out and took the inside tailgate panel off and saw the gommets still installed and took pictures to show my SA. So I knew right then that my truck had failed. This was late last year.

So they ordered a lightbar and I went in to have it replaced at my 30K last week.

This time the designated EV tech did the work instead of the dealership's 'recall guy' that didn't do the job correctly the first time. They took pics to send to Ford (as required) showing all grommets still installed, but only the two screws on the right side holes of the lightbar holding the thing on. It was generally agreed that the 'recall guy' can't or won't read the documentation before performing the work. (Not the first time apparently)

But I now have another new lightbar and I know the job was done properly this time.

Are folks still seeing the recall listed on their service list in Ford App or Ford.com?

It's been a good while since mine was repaired, was expecting the alert to drop off by now.

On mine, the recall was dropped off the list the day of the work. Depending on the dealerships 'warranty' section folks and the need to fill out the OWS form and submission of corroborating pictures I can imagine it might take a while to clear for some folks. There could be hiccups though.

41 days, seems long enough for dealership SA to close the record.

Should be, but your dealer hasn't submitted the claim yet
I recall he was having "issues" with the computer while trying to print a copy of the closed work order, he probably never revisited the case after I left.

It does require before and after pictures...if they didn't take them then maybe that's the holdup.

Today was the day when I received my truck from the dealer. They took my truck in the day before. Wednesday the 15th by the end of the day, I had no call as to what was going on. Today, the 16th, I got my answer as to what was going on.
Apparently the dealer had to order few things to satisfy the recall.
The light bar failed inspection because of missing clips and improper installation from the previous replacement.
6 retaining clips, 4 blind rivets and a camera alignment, the recall was ready to sell it to Ford. Numerous pictures had to be submitted for approval and release from Ford.
The release process took more than 4 hours. Ford then released the truck for delivery to my home.
Hopefully this maybe the last time we hear and deal with this light bar replacement. These light bars apparently were installed improperly from the factory and consequently from the dealers while performing the recalls.
Ford wanted to see the installation, step by step and most likely involving the Tech Rep to witness the installation process.
Ford wants to see the end to this light bar replacement recall.
My dealer apologized for the delayed delivery and explained the process both to me and the in the release paperwork completing the recall.
This was my recent experience with the light bar recall.
Good luck to all, folks.

Reminds me, I need to visit the SM to get the already completed recall of the recall, off my recall record.
